Right so I had visited for 2 nights and upon arrive was in a very discreet location for someone that dose not drive making anything near unaccessible. We woke up on the following morning and was not greeted on waking up in the morning was not very sure what do about breakfast we headed to the food and they had no coffee and a chemical tasting tea. we had an all day breakfast it was very mediocre and was an unpleasant experience we wanted a shower and the shower was not big enough and there was no hot water so forcing to have cold water and therefore leading us to not have a shower. we wanted a warm welcome when we came into our room the radiators did not work so we used the one in the wardrobe which did not work very well we had found many bugs and critters a loose bed frame and we got told that they had no boiler working and we had no food for the night and had no service upon that matter. We had felt let down to upon what the advertisement had promised us and with the photos representing an elegant place to stay it was not to our surprise we did not even get a goodbye or much of a conversation upon leaving….Thanks
Only 4 stars this time as heating had broken down . Staff did what they could with fires and oil filled radiators in room. Can't blame them plenty of hot water though. Will stay again. Great views. Rooms: Rooms well decorated and furnished Food & drinks: Excellent Yorkshire food .
Not a three stars hotel as some websites says, but a 2 stars, and i'm generous. The hotel needs an urgent renovation, expecially the rooms, but the worst part was the breakfast. Poor choice e no cooked breakfast Just because we were the only vacancies in there. They did not service our room and the bar always closed early in the afternoon, not at 10pm as they said. It seemed we we're in Airbnb, not in a hotel. I do not recommend It.
I booked a reservation here so my wife and I could take advantage of the North York Moors and it is right in the middle of them. It is a peaceful, quiet, beautiful area with phenomenal views. You may want to rent a car to get there and to take advantage of the surrounding English Countryside of which this place is an excellent example. We got off track with our GPS which took us way out in the country, but it was dumb luck that we did because the scenery and views were outstanding and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The Inn is 300 years old and is well maintained. The rooms are clean, the bed was good, and the view out of our room window was special. The pub is nice and well equipped. We ate dinner in the separate restaurant and had a wonderful conversation with a couple from England that lasted for well over an hour. The food was great and the service was excellent. Breakfasts are very good, too. We had lots of conversations with other travelers who gave us good recommendations for other places to visit as we continued our trip through England. Most of the bookings that we did were for three days, but I only penciled this one in for two days. That was a mistake. I wish we had had another day or two to spend on the moors. A trip on the North York Moors Railway and a visit to Pickering Castle are two recommendations. I highly recommend the White Horse Farm Inn to anyone traveling in the area.
In a fabulous spot with amazing views and walks, very quiet. Rooms clean with toiletries and a hospitality tray, TV, modern ensuite. Very comfy bed. Building is old so expect low doorways and uneven creaky floors. We ate both nights in the hotel and the food and service were fantastic, as was the breakfast buffet. We were a large party.and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms: Rooms varying in size, modern ensuites, walk in showers or bath with shower. Rooms at front have views. Nearby activities: Rosedale Abbey village pretty with tea rooms and shops, Moors centre nearby, or walk up Chimney Bank for spectacular views. Food & drinks: Small menu but the food is great and we'll presented.
We have just had the most amazing stay at the white horse. We where welcomed at the door by Andy the manager who helped take our suitcase up to our room which was lovely, clean and nicely presented, we booked a double room, which was small but nothing to complain about, we had a side view which looked out onto trees and alpacas which delighted my wife. Andy booked us in for an evening meal, fish and chips for both of us, the chips where amazing I have to say, we also had an amazing pint from a local brewery Helmsley. The view from the front of the hotel across the dale is spectacular, very special, we spent several hours just looking out watching the world drift by. The staff where lovely. The hotel is a gem and the Manager is a gent and brings the true meaning to hospitality. Thank you for our lovely stay, we will be back.
What a place to get away from it all. Great peaceful location with amazing views all around. Friendly welcoming staff who were happy to talk to us about the local area and places to visit. Great selection for breakfast but to be honest I stuck with the full English, why wouldn't you. The evening meals were so good and well needed after spending the day out and about. At the time of our stay we were informed they were short staffed but at no point did we think this affected the service we received or our stay. Hats off to everyone there your doing a great job. Will definitely be back sooner rather than later.
We stayed last weekend, and unfortunately there was an issue with the gas, completely out of the control of the staff here but they went above and beyond to make my wife and I and our 3 young children still feel very comfortable and did there best. I would highly recommend this friendly place to anyoneRooms: 5/5
Enjoyed evening meals on two occasions. Glorious setting views across the dale were delightful, excellent friendly service, with a good welcome for our dogs too. Drinks were varied and reasonably priced. I could have wished for more variety on the menu - eg mains were not too bad but why are desserts too often chocolate or toffee based? Fruit menus for spring and summer please! Prices were average for similar meals.
Stayed here for 2 nights 19th-21st May Enjoyed our stay, all staff that we came across were friendly and polite, the bar area has a nice atmosphere, good selection of drinks, the food was top notch, breakfast was great. The room had a large comfortable bed and had all the essentials, there was a good hospitality tray that had a variety of tea, coffee and biscuits. Great seating areas outside to enjoy the incredible view, plenty of space for parking. Ignore any negative reviews, some people just want to moan for the sake of moaning. Thanks for having us.
