Lovely homely pub. Only had time for a pint but the landlady was very friendly and helpful, the fire was lit and we were made to feel very welcome. The menu looked good and reasonably priced.
Group of 5 plus a dog went on Good Friday all had lovely meals of steak pie, cod, Cajun chicken burger, gammon and lasagna with home made onion rings as a side. All clean plates. Would recommend. Also had a game of darts or too and one of pool upstairs in the games room.
Really great atmosphere, service & food. We was a large party of 11 for Sunday lunch and the staff & food was fantastic. Really made a special family weekend away even better. Thank you.
Went with high expectations to have a Sunday roast with family. Worst ever roast, couldn't believe what we got. Burnt pudding, rationed burnt roast potato. And was not cheap. See photo.
Great old pub with an excellent carvery. This feature has decided us to return for our Christmas dinner this year. Although they have all the usual wines, beers and spirits the one gap in their offerings is the availability of cask ales. The traditional pumps are on display but remain unused.
Popped in for late lunch. I found the Staff polite and courteous, warm and welcoming. Lunch was absolutely spot-on despite the lunch menu limited due to a change of ownership I do hope all is well for the Staff regarding their future positions. Smashing well worth a visit.
Decent selection of beer. Beer garden is more of a beer car park but it was sunny Lunch menu overpriced for pretty bland choice - roast beef sandwich was literally a thin slice of supermarket sandwich beef between two slices of bread. Served with a bit of limp salad and a handful of crisps. All perfectly edible but this was after a half hour wait and was just shy of £11. So all in all - could have just been a bad day, but I probably wouldn't head back in a hurry.
Very friendly team but Sunday roast was pretty average at best. Small amount of fatty meat, not sure what had happened to the mash but it was hard. Veg was tired and old. Roast potatoes were good though. I wouldn't go back. Kid-friendliness: There are some toys for kids but no ood outside space.
Me, my husband my daughter and my Grandson came easter sunday walked in had a lovely welcome asked if we could get food as i wasnt sure if we had to book or not, we were seated and ordered our food, we got 2 beef dinnets and a gammon dinner my grandson shated ours, it was absolutely beautiful home cooked food, my grandson got a free little bat and ball which nice he was over the moon with it! Lovely polite staff very hard working. Would definitely recommend, we will certainly be back! Thank you!
