I just wanted to say that you absolutely excelled in every aspect of our visit.nnThe food was outstanding from start to finish, and the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Beef Wellington. We’ve tried Beef Wellington at many restaurants over the years, but nothing has come close to the one we had here. It was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and full of incredible flavour. It genuinely set a new standard for us.nnThe service was just as impressive as the food. Every member of the team was welcoming, attentive, and professional, making us feel looked after throughout the entire evening. Nothing was too much trouble, and the friendly atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable.nnFrom the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was exceptional. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers both outstanding food and first-class service, but you’ve certainly achieved it. We can’t wait to return and will be recommending The Whitegate to everyone we know. Thank you again for such a memorable dining experience! You excel everytime, huge well done!
Visited yesterday at lunch and had a lovely Linguine and my mum having a beef sandwich. Really good.nnMe and my sister came this evening and both had Scallops to start, which were really nice. My main was a Ribeye but this was very gristly and I ended up spitting lots out onto the plate. My sister had mussels which she wasn't impressed with.nnSuch a shame after spending £170 over 2 days.nnThe staff were excellent, especially Lola!nnSorry to say that we won't be visiting for food again.
I couldn’t find any photos of the Sunday roast at the White Gate since the renovation anywhere so posted in a local group and everyone was saying we needed to try it! So we went today and it was a 10/10! The service was amazing and so attentive, the venue since the refurb is beautiful… even the music was great but the food was the star of the show! The veggies were perfect, the beef was cooked to our liking you can have it more pink extra gravy provided and the burger was just as good so I was told. Highly recommend and we will be back!
Fish overcooked and chips nice chunky onesnAnd peas they were an absolute abomination dont shred some garden peas and try to pass them off as mushy please.nnFirst time I've not finished a fish n chips meal, ever.
Booked a table the night before, and just as well I did as, as callers, both in person and on phone, were being told they were fully booked. I was in the area and came for Sunday lunch.nnRoast beef came with mash, roasts potatoes, roasted carrot and parsnip, a bowl of cooked greens and a good sized Yorkshire pudding. I'm not a gravy person but do love plenty of horseradish, which was quickly provided. If I had an issue, ut would be that I'd have preferred my beef a little more on the rare side, but, that said, what I had was tender and tasty.nnI enjoyed everything I ate and didn't feel like I had overeaten. Indeed there was still room for my favourite dessert, sticky toffee pudding, which I can highly recommend.nnThe wait staff were attentive but unobtrusive and I was well looked after whilst there.nnIf I am over this way again then I'd be very happy to call in again.
