I came to this spot to watch the changing of the guard ceremony to get the view down the street with the Victoria monument in the background. It's a pretty good spot for a close up look at the Guard and hear the music before they head to Buckingham Palace. Wait here at the top of the road when they head back. My only disappointment as a photographer was that the big horse is out in front and the music sheet blocks the faces of the musicians. For everyone else, it is a great spot.
Went with an army friend, has a brilliant mess bar. Friendly staff and amazing prices!

Wellington Barracks were designed by Sir Francis Smith and Philip Hardwick and opened in 1833. The Guards' Chapel was rebuilt in the 1960s after the original chapel was destroyed by a V-1 flying bomb in World War II.On 31 August 2007, Diana, Princess of Wales' two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, organised a memorial service in the chapel, marking the 10th anniversary of their mother's death.The Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards and Scots Guards currently have a company based at the barracks. The building is Grade II listed, along with the gates and railings. I would like to take this opportunity to say it was an honour to transport the Irish Guards the rifles & the paratroopers & Desert Rats in to London & I wish them all the best & thank everyone for the service god bless you all
