The cafe in the basement is one of the best kept secrets in London - it is fair priced and looks out onto the Scoop, so when summer lunch activities are on, a great spot to hang out. A good venue. There are bag checks to enter but this is not too troublesome as the team are quick and efficient

Brand new, large and shiny. A bit far away from the beating heart of London but just a stone throw away from cable cars across the Thames if you want to make an outing out of it!
Travel industry evening event. Security very tight necessary I guess but even more so than airports everything through scanner even phone,belt,money,everything from pockets,as well as obvious bags etc.tgen body scan with standing on three colour coded footprints in three directions. Soon it'll be three dimensions! As a venue a little intimidating for what was supposed to be a relaxed travel event after a full day of exhibition at Excel. Impressive modernist architecture inside to match exterior. Seating hard wood, no cushioning. Ouch! Video presentation screens too small and low down for size of venue, had difficulty seeing and I'm average male height. Food/ drink top quality but no tables. A tad clinical for me but an experience nevertheless.
There's obviously confusion going on here. The London assembly moved from the old City Hall near London Bridge and Tower Bridge to the new city hall located in the Royal docks in December 2021. Google has both buildings named as city hall and that has led to people reviewing the new headquarters with pictures of the old headquarters.
A nice modern building and fun architecture in a great location, not only the Iconic Tower Bridge but also a great little park to stop for a drink or a bite to eat while soaking up the views. Also public toilets available which is always a bonus.

The Greater London Council GLC was the top-tier local government administrative body for Greater London from 1965 to 1986. It replaced the earlier London County Council LCC which had covered a much smaller area. The GLC was dissolved in 1986 by the Local Government Act 1985 and its powers were devolved to the London boroughs and other entities. A new administrative body, known as the Greater London Authority GLA, was established in 2000.
City Hall - The London Assembly Team - Has a newly designed website. I was asked my opinion and I gave it, worts and all! Very impressive turnaround today and 5***** for the informative website All the team are listed, photographed and I was surprised by the transparency, especially listing the salary of a Deputy Mayor. The good they actually listen, and respond very well to criticism.
