We had a fabulous visit here and were able to see quite a few planes taking off and landing despite less than ideal weather. What made our visit even more special was the very thoughtful and kind offer from the gentleman manning the control tower who let us visit the tower and took time to explain the systems to us and let us listen in to some of the calls between the tower and the pilots. After our visit to the tower, we were able to sit at the tables outside the cafe and watch the planes and airfield operations as we drank our tea and took photos. All in all, a lovely afternoon out.
I had my first flying lesson here and it was nothing shy of amazing. For a very very reasonable cost of 80 pounds, you get to spend about an hour meeting and greeting your instructor. Who then takes you around the plane that you will be flying and you both carry out safety checks. You then get on board and get strapped and secured in. It doesn't look it, but it is quite comfortable once you are inside. You then go through the start up process and away you go. Your instructor takes off and lands the plane. Average flight time is minimum half an hour, but you may get longer like I did, if the runway is busy. The flight was just awesome. My instructor John was very informative and and one of the best instructors I have ever had. The views are stunning and I got to fly the plane at 3000ft. How many people can say that? I absolutely loved my experience and this is all I will purchase for friends and family for presents from now on. The fligg
Great atmosphere and enthusiasm for aviation. The Cafe is central, in my opinion, to helping make a visit to WMA a really enjoyable day out.
An interesting market experience but it doesn't have much that I was interested in buying. We left empty handed but enjoyed a walk around the stalls
Can't thank the staff at WMA for being so accommodating yesterday 17th July when I spontaneously booked a 30 min pleasure flight for my Mom for her up coming 90th birthday and we were able to go up within 2 hours of booking!! The weather was perfect and my Mom was thrilled to bits. Our pilot Ken was so good and explained everything so well, told us where we were flying over & let Mom take the controls! It was a birthday treat to treasure. The only thing lacking, which I didn't think of until we had left, it would have been nice to commemorate the flight with a certificate - is this possible as a keepsake for her birthday??
Great place for a good English breakfast or tea and fabulous cake while watching the planes and helicopters land outside.
Very good place to go for the day go every Saturday Exlent
Very busy !, Nothing spectacular going on here just another Market place some crap some not so bad, is what to expect at Market.
Took my mom for a surprise helicopter flight. Staff all lovely and very helpful, especially pilot Matthew
Most traders turned up. But not good when there's no fruit and veg at an outdoor market. This is unusual but happened today 20th January. Lots of eating places and clothes stalls and places selling trainers and sports stuff.Good also for batteries and general hardware stuff. Also good bargains for coats and winter clothing. The usual meat auction wagons are there too.Free parking makes this a good few hours out
