Story

A favourite with the townspeople, who use it variously as a watering-hole, the place for a spot of lunch or a celebration dinner, we have won national awards. Twice named in the Top Ten UK pubs in the last three years, it was voted Best Pub in the UK in 2004.

Our secret? We take huge pride in serving the best ingredients we can find, form ethical producers, freshly prepared by our chefs. And we do it at pub prices, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The pub is open every day from 8am for breakfast and coffee, with lunch served from noon and hot food available all day. If you’re from out of town, we also have 5 smart and reasonably-priced bedrooms.

We stayed two nights and had dinner and breakfast.nnThe room was absolutely delightful. We booked the family room which was on the top floor. I checked in alone and the manager was kind enough to help me with my bags. It is several flights of stairs but this was manageable for us.nnThe room was clean, incredibly spacious, and wonderfully comfortable.nnThe dinner we had was very nice. The wine and steak was lovely. The chips were very average.nnBreakfast was fine. A yummy coffee and plenty of options for kiddos. I had the pancakes and found the portion small for the price but tasty.nnIt is the perfect location just off the market square. It can be a bit noisy at night but it is a pub after all and nearby other pubs/bars. We didn’t find it overwhelming though. Our toddler and baby still fell asleep fine.
This place is great! The roo. Was spacious. The beds were comfortable. It had a great airy atmosphere. The food was great. The staff were so friendly. I would definitely recommend this place if you are going to Warwick. If you go to the Castle make sure to see the Falcon show, it made the price of the ticket worth it.
To be honest, I was initially very apprehensive about this hotel. Especially after reading reviews that there is no elevator in the hotel.nnHowever, upon arrival, I found this hotel and the rooms very cute. It had a very warm and homely feel to it — and this makes it stand out from big hotel chains. The selection of tea and coffee in the room is commendable. Again, this is rare to see in hotels.nnThe staff were very friendly too.nnWould highly recommend this hotel
A nice clean room with good quality toiletries and essential oil diffusers in the bedroom and the bathroom which is a very nice touch.nThe food served in the bar restaurant was excellent but, when I was there, there appeared to be some new staff members who were not fully trained, hence the one star deduction.nAll in all a perfect place to stay when visiting this interesting and attractive town.
The style is a traditional British pub, which I love.nThe service was great, efficient and topped off with friendly staff, who were pleasant and wanted to assist me.nThe location is in a beautiful square, with lots to choose from, especially on a lovely sunny day.nThe Sunday Lunch offer was ideal, we opted for the two courses for £25, with cauliflower cheese and stuffing as extras. Great value, with an extra hug of gravy, the offer of more roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, which was a fantastic touch. The roast itself was well presented and loads of meat. I opted for the beef and my wife the pork.
