Story

Websters has reopened as the city’s newest theatre, formerly the Lansdowne Parish Church, an A-listed Gothic Revival church built by John Honeyman in 1863.

This is an exceptional building which is in need of a new life and restoration, It is now taking on a new role in the West End offering a theatre space seating 184 people,a community event space and a bar and bistro.

Websters is being developed thanks to a small loan from the Architectural Heritage Fund. Work started early in 2014 and continues creating its own momentum as other sources of funding support are found. This has included a grant offer from Glasgow City Heritage Trust to repair some of the external features. The building is a very prominent and beautiful Glasgow landmark.

The project is being promoted by FACT THREE a registered charity set up by the trustees responsible for Cottiers Theatre, previously Dowanhill Church, also in the West End, a project that has been hugely successful. Websters will be similar to Cottiers and the retention of the original church hall space will give it a very strong community focus.

Lovely staff, fab indoor and outdoor seating, making great creative use of the space. The food is accessible, great vegan and veggie options, fries, and overall off the scale gorgeous, tasty, good honest food!
in an old church so a very cool setting with a great use of old pews, drinks took a while, french martini and a gin bramble but must admit well worth the wait, both were delicious ps 80s tunes were a touch lol. This is a theatre but the bar is open as normal so well worth a visit.
Great soup and toasted sandwiches served here.
Stopped for some drinks in the beer garden. Staff very friendly. Has the potential to be a great venue once everything gets back to normal.
Wonderful venue. Lovely welcoming staff. Terrific scran. Top drawer coffee.
Pretty lights and decor, food slightly disappointing though asked for sourdough bread and it was white bread that came. The sandwiches were a bit greasy aswell.
First time I've visited. Theatre is comfortable and acts can be seen clearly. Bar has a real fire , making a very cosy atmosphere. Bar was busy but I was served quickly.
It's a nice we theater ..however I didn't find it very clean between shows floor was dirty! Apart from that yes it central & great place
