We tried off the BBQ and Specials menu at the Secession Bar Angus Beef Burger, Nachos and Chargrilled chicken skewers and everything tasted amazing. The servers and bartender duo were very nice and funny and we enjoyed that it wasn't too crowded.Food: 5/5
A most interesting bar and delightful staff but no Scottish beer available in draught or even in bottles. One might have hoped for better from a local enterprise.Service: 5/5
Friendly staff, awesome atmosphere, unique location.Food: 4/5
Atmosphere is grand through the church renovations. Staff are excellent and funny to boot! Food is nice and reasonable having enjoyed lunch there twice now. With a selection of board games to entertain this is a wholesome pub with great service and a nice selection of drinks to keep you going.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A VENUE FOR A PARTY read this review first... My band the Jiggers Ceilidh Band played a ceilidh in here for a 21st birthday party on Friday night. The staff were really helpful and even helped us carry our gear up the stairs to the old church hall room. It's obviously a venue that is being renovated just now, but this place still has a lot of character and is just the right kind of a place for a ceilidh. They have a bar upstairs for private events, and the place can look quite full with 40-50 people, but could take even more than that. We had a great, informal classic Scottish ceilidh, and this is the ideal space for that kind of thing. Recommended.
Hidden gem on great western road. Definitely worth a pop in. Also worth having the surprise shot. When we were in the two brilliant bartenders created us a lovely version. Good bit of fun and also a nice icebreaker with the bar guys. Ended up having a great time and were really pleased we popped in. Will be back.
Small and cosy. I thought it is going to be the hole church, but just a small part of it is the bar. The staff was nice, the service was slow, although the place wasn't busy. Drinks were good, but when we ordered food it took long to prepare it and was only just warm enough to eat it straight away. Some of the items from the Haagis we ordered were missing so they offered us to replace it from anything from the menu. It was nice to offer, but as we never had Haagis before were disappointed about not getting the full experience.
Dissapointing overpriced drinks. Staff a bit "meh"Service: 2/5
Lovely friendly staff and beautiful food! The whole place is really friendly and dog friendly too!! Good selection of beers on tap and excellent selection of spirits. Will definitely be back here!
This is a great place to people watch but the wheat is more expensive than a mortgage. I'd advise just the , still pricy, but a nice environment nonetheless.
