Lovely Victorian Arcade with lovely shops an Old fashioned sweet shop Yankee candle shop ladies designer clothes shop and not forgetting a men's high end clothes shop, Beals furniture store and an independent jewellers. There is a lovely cafe that serves homemade food and a small ice cream, cake shop where you can also have a hot drink.

Nice lot of little shops and Beales side entrance on terrace as well as their new furniture store, Dad's guitar shop is a must to visit and the Hair Lounge is a great little hairdresser. There's cafes below and some coffee bars that you can sit Al fresco inside away from the rain, there is some jewllery and accessory shops an old fashioned sweet shop, there is a lift and stairs a great place to visit on a day out in Southport

Wayfarers is the kind of place that you come upon when first visiting a new town that makes you do those strange little 'wow' noises in the back of your throat, and when you get back home, you want to phone all your friends and tell them about the amazing discovery you made while on holiday.

Unless you live near it, of course. Although, even when it has become commonplace and ordinary, there is still much to enjoy in the arcade. Especially in wintertime around Christmas, it's a true joy just to windowshop the carved mahogany frames of the shops, and take in the festive atmosphere.

From my man's perspective, it's lovely to have MAN shops to look in (grunt,grunt) - a truly excellent musical instrument shop - jewellery and barbers shop ( real razors that BITE!) among others.

The entertainment truly comes into its own if you stand on the corner of the entrance and keep a careful ear out for American accents. Watching open mouthed expressions is nearly as much fun as standing at the gates of the Magic Kingdom spotting 'first-timers'.

I for one am genuinely grateful that time has spared it.

It's a beautiful old fashioned building that gets kept immaculate. Everyday I am in Southport I don't leave without visiting Wayfarers Arcade, especially the Sweet Memories shop. Fantastic old fashioned sweet shop. Love it

This old Victorian Arcade is a small but very interesting passage, like a long tunnel from Lord Street.  The other end of the Esplanade is a two level balcony with a mezzanine area leading to the back street.  Some of the stores inside are upmarket stores, and there are also places to eat with some fine dining and outdoor seating areas under the central high glass canopy.  And, of course, there is the large bronze statue of the famous racehorse, Red Rum.
