Dropped into the Wayfarer for an evening meal after a long working day. Plenty of choice with fresh fish options too. Atmosphere great and staff very friendly. Local band came on just as we finished eating. Really good. Went back next day for Sunday lunch. Have tried all the pubs in Instow. Definitely the best this year. Didn't stay at the Wayfarer so can't comment on the rooms.
This place is beautiful so friendly food is so nice & breakfast! Every single person who works here makes you feel welcome So clean and a perfect location You really have made our little holiday brilliant thank you so much!!
A group of 9 had a delightful meal perfectly cooked and served. The wife and I stayed over in the Torridge suite. Great view of the river. The room is beautifully decorated and cosy. Great value for money and very friendly staff especially Jack the young apprentice waiter. Thank you for a wonderful night
One of my favourite ales on sale here - Timothy Taylor Landlord - and kept well. Food is high quality and reasonably priced, too, served by friendly staff! I have no experience of the rooms, hence not rated. Food & drinks: See main report!
This USED to be a most excellent venue but sadly no more. Everything was poor apart from the guy behind the bar. The depth maybe was gravy served in a small jug which was SO CONGEALED it just stuck there ... non pouring gravy !!!! .Service: 1/5
My wife and I have just stayed for a 3 night stay and have enjoyed our time very much. The room and staff was excellent.The breakfast was delicious. Location to the golden sandy beach and views are just 100 yards away. We hope to visit here again soon.Rooms: 5/5
Great pub off the main road, with a large sun drenched beer garden which is well worth a visit. Excellent menu, great food and a great choice of drinks. Really friendly team including the locals. Our only complaint is we didn't find this gem until the 2nd to last day. We will definitely visit again.Service: 5/5

Chris and his staff were so friendly and welcoming even though we arrived 3 hours early on our SW Coastal Path walk. We sat in the sunny beer garden and chilled until we were ready for our evening meal. Nothing was too much trouble for this team. Fabulous place- I would highly recommend to anyone. The room was lovely with a bath and lashings of hot water. Food was not overpriced and I would recommend the pizza which was delicious. There was a Motown/ Soul night on during our staff: that just added to their experience. Fabulous- would recommend to anyone. Chris is an amazing landlord.
