Big shop with a large range of books. Has a nice calm atmosphere with a café Nero in the back.

You need to sort out your phone system it does not work correctly, it asks if you know the extension you wish to dial, then to dial it, then keeps transferring back to operator then back to extension to dial, and it keeps doing it which is infuriating. Was holding for six minutes. Ridiculous.

I just want to say I find the staff at Waterstones, Castlepoint to be the most helpful, well-read and generally downright intelligent in any store recently visited by me - never mind 'just' a book shop. I sincerely hope books never go out of fashion as there's nothing like picking up the 2/3 I've been saving for (plus a couple of the little doo-dah's Waterstones now sell...nothing you really need but so much that you want!), paying and then going home deciding which book I'll read first, sometimes right through the night. It is often because of a staff members recommendation that I chose the books I have and bar one exception they've never failed me. So thanks Waterstones people for introducing me to the work of Joe Hill, Justin Cronin and suggesting I read 'Peculiar Children' even when the cover scared me (I'm 51 years old) and thanks too for being so attentive to my daughter and developing her taste in books too - all Daphne du Maurier's famous titles read by her and she''s not 16 yet....due to you guys.
