Good value main course though a couple of things on the menu were not available. Comfortable, warm surroundings with decent, easy listening background music. Will most likely visit again.

Had Christmas dinner here and unfortunately it was a massive let down. Bad service, cold food and uncaring management. Food arrived at our table and my father in law was just cutting his pork when the waiter ( Dominic ) announced that we'd been given the wrong meals because they were for another table and it was unceremoniously taken away even while the old chap was cutting his pork. We eventually walked out because we were left at the table with dirty plates for about forty minutes and even when we asked for out desserts nothing was coming forward. With service like this it's a wonder that anyone actually returns. This is not the first time we have had issues with this place because at least twice previously they have served cold food and when it has been pointed out they have denied it was cold even though it truly was. If anybody wants to dispute this then I will be happy to have the conversation!

My Grandad and Nan, Harold and Alice Bamber had The Walton Arms nearly 60 years ago. Many happy memories of visits there. Must visit again.

Much improvement in the past year. Good concise tasty menu and at least 2 cask ales always on offer. Still quaint and quirky, but now less cluttered and a fresher feel. Ideal for a quick drink with nibbles and sharing starter available. Dogs allowed in the bar area. Staff friendly...all I would say is the landlord needs to improve his rapport with his customers.

Nice beer. Nice food. Nice atmosphere. Tread over sandbags to get in, and narrow door, I only just made it in. Friendly staff, clean. Definitely worth a visit. Is now under new management. Yorkshire pud amazing.
