An unusual selection of drinks, trying to offer something different. Noticeably more expensive than local competitors but I expect this is to cover the horde of staff they seem to have at any one time. The staff set up is strange, there always seems to be too many working at any one time, majority of which seem to be around the 16-22 age group, they seem to hang around the bar waiting for something to do and they don't appear to interact much with the customers instead talking amongst themselves. They are all very pleasant though and helpful. Nicely refurbished, very clean and tidy but a bit too bright for my liking so doesn't have the relaxing feel to the place, although I expect this is for those eating - fair enough. The food here is good. Sports are available but rarely with sound, it is unclear what type of establishment this place is trying to be - is it a sports bar, drinking bar, restaurant, higher end, casual drinking pub, dog friendly, I'm just not sure! Throw enough mud at the wall and see what sticks springs to mind. Would recommend though, try it out!

Recently refurbished, now a lovely restaurant. Still has a bar area if you just want a drink. Good varied menu with all the classic dishes, nice place for a family meal. Cask ales and good selections of wines. Nice addition to the area overall.

Great setting, great decor, half decent service, reasonable range at the pumps but the Alli portent food was disappointing. The menu is short enough to be executed well but wasn't. It peaked at average across our group. My steak pie was a dollop of sticky meat on the plate with a puff pastry lump on the same plate. The "filling" was too salty, I had to ask for a boat of gravy as it was served with none, the roasties had such a thick crust as to require hacking into. Shame as all the other ingredients are there for a great Sunday pub destination.

Real fire, pub grub. Attentative service. Attended with 7 people who all enjoyed main course and desert. Openef promptly at 11.45. Had steak pie and chunky chips with fresh veg. Really enjoyed it.
