Booked for my dad’s wake, ordered food for 50 and there was loads, everyone had plenty and more! Lovely food, very varied, hot and cold, and the hot food wasn’t cooked until we were all there so it was very fresh. 2 lovely big cakes for afters. I had a lot of compliments on the food from my guests. There was quite a lot of food left so Vanessa gave us polystyrene takeaway trays so everybody could help themselves to take out.nWe just about filled the side room, so there was a lovely atmosphere and they provided a TV screen for a USB stick to show all my dad‘s photos.nVery enjoyable and good value for money. Unfortunately, I was too busy to take photos.
Vanessa and Jamie have done absolutely brilliant. The food was lovely and atmosphere even better. I’ve never seen it so busy.nVanessa is a lovely host and very friendlynWe came in for my brothers birthday meal we sat on table 1 and and I had the half roast chicken and my brother, daughter and friend had the hunters chickennWill definitely recommend to others.nThank you so muchnn- Laura Buckel
Vanessa and Jamie afforded me great service by allowing me to change in the pub prior to attending the funeral of a fellow veteran of the Parachute Artillery.nHowever let me say the ambience of the pub was excellent - the quality of food that I saw coming out of the kitchen looked to be excellent. The choice of beers very good. I’m a real ale man and sadly I could not see one availablenNotwithstanding - If I were ever in the area again I would definitely make the Whitakers Arms a port of call.nThank you and may I say - WELL DONE!!!!
Excellent food and service we come again. Sunday roast was perfect clean
Came here with my son for our Sunday tea. I got roast chicken dinner and wish I hadn't bothered. Everything on my plate was really dry. I gave the dry chicken to my son who ordered a burger that he couldn't eat because there was hot chilli sauce on it that wasn't stated on the menu.nI didn't get a please or a thank you from the girl behind either.nVery disappointed and definitely won't be going back.
