We had an absolutely fantastic time here. This place plays live music into the small hours, and does everything from Amy Winehouse to Kings of Leon. Drinks are reasonably priced and the performers are really talented. I’d absolutely come back here.
Door staff are racist and I recommend people that are not from liverpool do not attend this bar . Amount bad reviews on door staff and nothing has been done shows a lot .
Good place to have a drink and full of mostly local people who were very friendly. Nice atmosphere and good live singer when I was there.Service: 5/5
Great place to visit, dance and drink. Singer was fantastic.Service: 5/5
My cousin broke her leg coming out of this bar. She wasn't even wearing heels. The steps are so steep. She broke her leg and not one doorman offered help. We called for an ambulance while people where stepping right over her to get into and out of the bar, all the while she was crying for help while getting knocked about. I couldn't believe they didn't offer us help. We later found out that her leg was broken in 2 places.
Months ago, I reserved the bar area for 30 people with a bloke behind the bar for this Saturday. Came in to confirm this week and they rejected all knowledge of it- said they don’t do bookings. Now have had to find another bar to take the booking at such short notice. Completely out of order- both the bloke who took the booking when he shouldn’t have, and the manager for not fulfilling her employees commitment to us.
Met my daughter & her friends here on Friday evening. Good atmosphere, quick service too. Stayed for a few drinks, then went out the back way, onto Mathew St directly next to The Cavern pub. Recommended for the 20+ age group, especially if you like good, live acoustic music.
Ridiculous door staff. Telling us that smart satin dress pants are not in the DRESS CODE. Managers need to sort their door staff out. After a long night in work, meeting up with friends to be told your outfit doesn't live up to the Ridiculous FANCY DRESS OUTFITS that enter the bar. Swerve this place in future.
Kopite bar with kopite singers. Heard better singers at a primary school nativity. Wouldn't recommend at all. Go the excelsior / Denbigh Castle
Maybe it's better on quieter nights but on Fridays it's packed in like sardines. You won't get a seat, you won't find a space to stand in where people aren't coming past or somewhere to put your drink down. It's too loud to have a conversation and the live music is one tone, one speed and massacring popular songs but only playing about half a song before starting the next one. Maybe I'm too old for bad covers, queuing three deep at the bar and no room to move, cos it's obviously popular to be that chokker!
