Used the car park on a daily basis during my week stay in Durham and had absolutely no problems getting in or out of the car park. The car park recognises your registration on entry and exit no ticket involved and you pay by entering your registration at the pay machine, accepts cash or card. Spacious car park, will definitely use again.
I've been using this car park for approximately 2 weeks now and it's a total nightmare, the ANPR camera doesn't read my number plate correctly after every visit which has been 10 times up until now, every time I visit it reads a totally different plate to the one I have, example: the letter o is an 8 sometimes a G and always misses the number 1 off, I always have to wait at the barrier and explain what has happened to get the barrier released. Today I arrived at 9.33 when at the ticket machine it acknowledged that I was less than 2 hours but when I got to the barrier it said I was longer and needed to pay more. To be fair to the guys that work here I've never had any issues with them and they have always been polite and I suppose they get fed up with this system also. On another note the car park needs cleaning badly, I parked on level two and getting out of my car I spotted at least 3 dirty nappies scattered about.
It's a car park. Got scared as in a van and height restriction was 2.1m. So went somewhere else
Recently switched to ANPR. Been twice since then and both times after paying the exit cameras are not picking up my number plate so have had to wait at the barriers several minutes for someone to answer the intercom. Never had problems in other APNR car parks so this car park needs to sort out it's cameras.
Charged me £9 twice now for parking ? Payment machine very complicated??? Have to be fast and if there is a que ????
The payment machines need updating/repairing so they all work, take newer notes & debit/credit cards, as there is no pedestrian space on the ramps between floors. As do the doors so they open fully. The lift button identifiers also need replacing so you don't have to guess which to press. Also, if the level is -1 that's what the lift should say, not 0. It's unnecessarily confusing. Too often one of the entrance lanes is closed and it's unclear as to why. Improvements needed, really.
One of the worse car parks I have ever used. Bends are tight, direction signage confusing, roads coned off and pay stations hopeless. In particular few pay stations accept contactless payments and today few would accept credit or debit cards or £20 notes. Pay stations are also not well spread around and it's easy to find yourself parked a long way away from a pay station. Time to demolish and start again.
The useless, greedy owners need to invest some money in to this joke of a car park. Non of the payment machines accept contactless, only one accepts card payment and they can't take the new £20 notes - it has been this way for at least 6 months. When is this going to get sorted? Update: They’ve finally went ticket free and you can actually pay using all forms of payment. They’ve pushed the price up to £2 an hour before 6pm £1.50 after 6pm but overall no issues so far.
Doing monthly plan here fair price for indoor 24/7 CCTV probably the best car park so far
Ridiculous that paying on the machines is the only option when a full theatre comes out...should have an app too
