Today was my last ever shop at this Waitrose store.... Just because I do not fit the description of a "typical Southsea Waitrose" shopper though I am certainly more courteous and polite than many, there is no need to treat me with any less respect than you did the person in front of me at the till. Today is far from the first incident either, on two other occasions recently I have gone to put my shopping on a till conveyer to be abruptly told "go to cigarette counter it will be quicker!" - Is it not my choice where I pay for my shopping? As I found throughout life, your staff need to learn to not be judgmental on first impressions and treat everyone as equal or better than themselves as you never know who you are addressing. Maybe if the staff had looked past their noses rather than down them in life, they too could have retired at fifty with a healthy bank balance rather than looking down at people until their retirement age or beyond.
A nice branch of Waitrose with very friendly staff members. There’s a big car park and let me attach the tariff for it. Free parking up to 30 mins for even non-customers. Free parking up to 2 hours for customers who spend more than £10. It can be slightly confusing as to where the main entrance for your first visit, but it can be directly accessed from the car park, i.e. if you find yourself leaving the car park to find the entrance, it is not a good sign - it is the mistake I made. Alternatively, try to follow people from the car park : Spacious branch with plenty of tills - even at the back of the branch for baskets only so it is quite convenient.
Amazing customer service from Kara on the parcel collection desk on Mother’s Day 2024, she was kind enough to go above and beyond to make it special for my mum - and she did it with a smile! Thank you so much.
A nice sized shop with all the products you'll ever need plus friendly staff. Been shopping here for 13 years and love it.

Medium size supermarket that sells all kind of groceries ranging from milk, fruits, vegetables, and etc. I have had a few unpleasant experiences in the past, but recently, their customers service has improved.
They only care about car drivers. Cyclists and pedestrians cannot enter from Marmion Road. The store is a depressing mess and is covered in graffiti. Very sad to see it decline. Surely they can allow one way entry like they did many years ago. I can understand entry and exit from Marmion Road is a security risk from a theft point of view, so simply implement a one way system for those that want to arrive on foot or by bicycle.
Lovely shop, friendly staff, just wish it was bigger!
