Vue is the best budget cinema in my mind. Obviously got to take that into account. Staff are lovely, the chairs are a bit mucky here and there, food is gonna break your bank, but everyone knows that. It's probably the best one in town anyway. Probably will be coming back here over odeon :
This place offers a great value for money experience. Great sound and atmosphere within the screens at only £5-6 per ticket. The only thing that lets it down is the absolutely astronomical prices for food and drinks and the fact that you are not allowed to take your own in. It seems like a trap to get you to spend more money than you intended. Other than that I had a great time watching the movie and it was a great experience overall.
Good enough for a cinema but ever since COVID films don't get a good enough run in cinemas. I suppose prices are normal for the cinema but too expensive for a family on an income. My advice - book the regular seats and grab a footlong subway deal even for the kids. That way they can share or save half for the day after. Saves money either way!
Paid for vip seating and had back pain throughout. The seats have totally lost their cushioning. Complained to manager but probably won't hear back. Pick and mix was £7.99 for a small carton, shocking. There was sticky sweets and popcorn down side of seats and pop residue in drink holders. Think it would benefit from a change in cleaners. Won't be going again there are other cinemas
I went to the cinema on my own to see Strange World. I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE SCREEN. It was crazy. The staff on the kiosk were really friendly and supportive. They showed me where the screen is and when to go it was great. They said there hadnt been a film in there so the place is clean, but there was popcorn all over and the seats were heavily stained with all sorts of colours. There was also a member of staff coming in and out of the screen who was wearing a high vis vest, who kept checking to see if I was still there. It was really off putting. I know I was the only one in the room but I still paid to see the film. Overall a good experience but the cleaning could be better and the food prices are ridiculous. For the price of a popcorn and drink you can get a full meal at the pub nextdoor and a drink...
First time at the Vue. I wasn't impressed at all. Found it very expensive to buy food and alcohol, especially in the current climate. I mean £13 for a pint of lager and a very basic hot dog is not going to encourage me to buy more, especially when watching a 3 hour + film Avatar. Paid extra for VIP seats which was very dissapointint in a very small room setting. Not realy any different to a basic seat, so don't waste your money. Not the kid's fault who are Staff members, but did not see any staff member over there 20's and it showed as there seemed to be no figure head or knowledgeable person in charge. For the 2 of us to watch "Avatar" after booking VIP 3D seats, x2 hot dogs, x6 pints of lager and a box of pop corn nothing else was bought in there, cost us a total of £79.92p exactly. We know the exact total as we had a £80 gift card and was left with 8p on it. The Vue definately need to re-think there pricing, if they want to encourage more people to experience the cinema. Our show was not even half full.
Had Avatar booked for 2 weeks, travelled 20 mins to get to the cinema to be told the screen was off. That was all, gave us ticket and drinks refund.. then took the drinks off us even though we had already started drinking them.
Great place and excellent value when pre booking tickets. Cinema was clean food was good myself my wife and my 3 kids loved a Christmas eve visit
It's decent, normal tickets will get u quite terrible seat option, I think they could improve in that regard but generally I like this cinema, and it's the only one in Darlington anyways
Good prices, park for free after 6pm in the nearby multi story.
