Beautiful cinema, great bar with views across the beach & sea. Three lovely small theatres. And a good selection of movies.
Really impressed with this cute little Cinema and it's staff, I believe it was the manager at the time training a new starter and they did a great job informing them and showing them there process, all the staff here were really helpful and went out their way to help few disabled customers. Great customer service and the outside balcony area was so lovely to relax with a drink in hand. Would definitely come back here and would highly recommend a visit.
Went to our local cinema for the 2nd time since it opened with my daughter.nShe got some popcorn and a drink that we found was very expensive.nThen we went and sat down to watch out film, the only thing if it a very long film you get very uncomfortable as Redcar cinema are not reclining chairs. I have bad knees and they were hurting as uncomfortable.
The Regent cinema is on Redcar seafront. It looks similar to the beloved old Regent cinema as to its art deco exterior. Though going to the loo in the old Regent Cinema you could hear the North Sea crashing against the walls. Loved that cinema.nThe New Regent Cinema has not opened yet, however this should be around March 2022.nNow open. Went to see Taylor Swift Eres tour quite expensive £15 though you can get a meal and picture/film for £16.00. You can also join Magic Cinema for £15.00. This gets you one picture/film ticket for this price and also joining gets you discount for 1 year.nThe Regent is very plush with views across the sea and Redcar town. The restaurant and cafe are very posh , though I don't get out much. and the toilets are luxurynI like the new Regent cinema, though I miss the quirkiness of the old Regent Picture House and the price £5.50 per film.
So, The Regent has reopened and we visited for the grand opening tonight.nn£6.50 for kids, £7.50 for seniors 60+ and £8.50 for adults 15+. It’s £2.50 cheaper and 2 for 1 on Mondays with an annual pass costing £15 for adults and £12.50 for seniors and kids.nnIt’s nice inside and they’ve gone for the Art Deco style.nnDownstairs it has a ticket office, snacks shop with the usual cinema treats sweets, popcorn, nachos, etc. and 2 screens.nnUpstairs is spacious with lots of seating and a bar. The bar has no draught drinks alcohol or soft drinks only selling bottles and cans decanted into plastic glasses. Wine is sold in small bottles for one but you can take drinks into the cinema. There’s another screen upstairs and an outdoor terrace overlooking the sea with great views. It has a glass barrier but it’s still chilly and could do with heaters.nnIf they put heaters outside and sorted out the drinks at the bar I’d have given it 5 stars and it’d likely attract folk just for a drink and sit down with a view.nnBut to be fair, they’ve done a great job and it’s super to have The Regent back in town.nnWell done.
