Delighted to find a tourist information centre for Dundee. The two members of staff I spoke to were very helpful and went over and above what I asked for to explain what Dundee and the surrounding area had to offer. There were also many leaflets on Dundee and further afield in Scotland. Although I had researched my visit to Dundee before arriving I felt the tourist information's advice really improved my stay.
This is a review of Dundee itself. To explain - the TIC, located in the V&A had a very limited supply of up-to-date info, tho' the staff attempted to help as best they could. Dundee is FABULOUS! Everyone is so warm, welcoming and friendly! It's not "touristy" as, eg, Edinburgh, but deserves as much attention. The art/architecture/history/culture, all make for a most worthwhile holiday, with so much to see and do in a city of character! Already looking forward to going back!
Ellie of Visit Scotland, inside the V&A center helped me to find a local sheepherding experience! She was super friendly, went above and beyond to provide me with safe traveling information, directions, and really blessed my trip! Thank you, Ellie!
Extremely helpful and friendly guides.
The lovely staff were very helpful in finding us accommodation at a busy time of the year.We were very stressed from jetlag, and the gave us great suggestions and assisted us to search and find suitable links to ferries. The Management should be proud to have such great representatives who give a worthwhile service with grace, patience and good humour ..well done and many thanks
Great visit. Interesting galleries. Restaurant and bar has a patio area which is sheltered. Downstairs cafe opens July 1st this year 2022
Exciting art space and great aspect overlooking the Tay. Cafe baguettes weren't great.
Interesting place lots to see, big problem is people who work their, rude to visitors, we visited today, six occasions asked for directions, told ask someone else? Will never come back here, make sure I tell my mates, in Australia and USA
Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. The office is, however, situated next to the Caird Hall in the centre of the city. I have a suspicion that most visitors might not go looking that far. It could do with a better position, eg in the brand new train station, where there is nothing in the way of tourist advice about the area. The new V&A and Discovery are just across the road from the station and possibly most visitors don't go any further than that. There is much of interest to see in Dundee apart from this. Come on, VisitScotland, get a grip!
There is nowhere to park! You would have to walk or catch a train into town centre in order to get there. Great visitor center for locals, ridiculous for tourists. Also, didn't sell castle passes. What a waste of time.
