Without exaggeration, this is the best beer / wine / whatever-your-fancy-shop I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. There are always amazing, new drinks to browse. The craft beer selection is top notch. While you could happily close your eyes, spin, point and choose an excellent drink that way, the team at Vino are more than capable of giving great recommendations. Iain and co. are absolute legends. While we now live in another continent, we used to bring our little dog in while shopping. They were always lovely to her and gave her little treats. I’ve been trying to find somewhere as amazing as Vino since leaving, but I fear my efforts are doomed to fail. If you’re around and looking for a drink, be sure to stop by.
Excellent craft beer mixed case delivered and after speaking to the team over the phone they helped me pick an amazing red wine for a special occasion. Delivered the next day with no delivery charge. I highly recommend Vino Wines
Amazing range of drinks for everyone from gin aficionados to craft beer enthusiasts to wine drinkers. The advice available is excellent, staff are lovely and always ready to advise on new tipples and new twists on old favourites. We have tried allsorts from here and recent favourites include Bob's Bitters in Chocolate needs to be tried to be appreciated!, Rhubarb and Crumble IPA yes, really!, and some really lovely chocolate stouts more readily available at Wintertime! including Sam Smith's Chocolate Stout, though everything I read about that company and Brewdog makes me want to never buy their products again..... % 11/10 highly recommend, most particularly popping in to discover a new drink or new take on your old faithfuls.
Normally come to this place as my local and have done so for quite some time, however the rudeness of the staff is not acceptable and I will not be returning again. There are far better wine/craft beer shops across Edinburgh that I would recommend. My last experience in the shop ruined my evening, the two men at the check out were very unhelpful and turned their nose up at me and made me feel very uncomfortable. Very disappointing and would not recommend if you live in Stockbridge or are passing through.
For the most part I dislike Stockbridge, finding many places quite pretentious. Vino is one of the exceptions. The staff are exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. Plus they are dog friendly and always have treats ready. Not the cheapest, but the selection is great, and if you really wanted supermarket prices then go to a supermarket. It is a genuine pleasure every time I come here. Couldn't recommend this place higher.
Good place. Nice selection. Pleasant folks. I have lived in Spain for the last 20 years so for me an 8 to 10 euro bottle of wine is for somebody’s birthday. I’ve been working the bottom shelf and the next up and it’s just fine down there. The fact that the joint is maybe 30 steps from my apartment is definitely a huge asset.
I have stopped here for a bottle of wine on my way to the station and the staff member on was really helpful. They had ran out of the wine I wanted and suggested another to replace which was both cheaper and even tastier! I have also stopped here for drinks with friends and we ended up staying the whole night! The fact that I can pick any wine on the shelf and drink it for a small fee sitting outside watching the world go by is just great and I love this concept of wine shop/bar. The staff seem really knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. I have yet to try anything on tap but I definitely will do next time I'm there!
A good selection of beers including some unusual Al spurs I haven't seen before. Unfortunately the particular one that caught my attention was in the window display, the last can and behind a fridge that would have needed moving to access it. The alternative I picked was good though. Great they have stock in fridges as well as on conventional shelves, attentive service and good social distancing implementation at the time of my visit.
A really great space to go and clock in an evening, the arch has a great atmosphere within itself but add the the friendly, knowledgeable, and cheery staff to that and you are onto one of Edinburgh's best wee wine spots. On top of the by the glass range the guys also do a £5 corkage on anything off the shelf so as far as wine bars go never-mind one as central as this this is insanely good value. Love this spot and delighted Edinburgh has a wine merchant that is able to serve wine on the premise finally! Just a brilliant concept excellently executed.
Great wee off-licence/bottle bar hybrid thingy. I'm more of a beer person but was not disappointed with the selection of domestic and overseas beers available. I'm finding it harder and harder to get a beer I've not already had but Vino, in general, manage to get the job done and at the Arches it's great to have the option of drinking it there with a few well chosen nibbles. Well worth a detour if you're in Edinburgh.
