Story

Edinburgh’s most enchanting Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar, Divino Enoteca, is a hidden gem in the heart of the Old Town yet only minutes from the bustle of the city.

Divino "Il Ristorante" is open for reservations from 5pm - 10pm, Monday - Thursday, Friday until 11pm, and 12pm-11pm on Saturdays. Authentic Italian dining a la carte, brought to you from our Head Chef, Francesco Ascrizzi. Delicious antipasti, fresh pasta, seafood, and grill with our super sommeliers on hand to assist in choosing your wines. Delicious authentic homemade desserts, perfectly prepared to complete your meal.

Divino "L'Enoteca" is an informal, yet sophisticated area where everyone can relax and enjoy fabulous wines by the glass, beer, spirits, cocktails, and speciality wine from our unique Enomatic wine preservation system. Italian antipasti and formaggi are available along with the a la carte menu to enjoy the full Divino experience. Reservations can be made through our booking system from 3pm - 12am, Monday - Thursday, Fridays until 1am, and 12pm-1am on Saturdays.
The AA Rosette Divino is part of the award-winning Vittoria Group, an Edinburgh institution dating back to 1970 when Alberto Crolla Sr opened the first restaurant, Vittoria, on Leith Walk.

Now run by son Tony and his family, the Group has grown over the years and features award-winning eateries around the city, including Vittoria on the Bridges & Leith Walk; La Favorita, the award-winning gourmet pizzeria and the most recent edition, the Taste of Italy café.

Divino Enoteca is the archetypal wine cellar married with Italian ‘chic’, charming and elegant, with soft lighting and exposed stone walls perfectly complemented by comfy leather chairs, banquettes and booths, rich oak floors and an eclectic mix of pictures, lanterns and object d’art creating a warm and welcoming ambience.

At Divino, we promise exquisite Italian dishes prepared with love and flair and delivered by personable staff. Our philosophy is simple… to offer delicious wine and food sourced with an eager eye for provenance and quality. Choose from tempting antipasti plates, with regional cheeses and meats, tapas or for something more substantial we have a fabulous array of meat, fish and pasta dishes and remember to leave room for our beautifully, hand-crafted desserts.

Grab a seat in the gregarious bar area with its sleek black leather stools and contrasting white marble bar, or relax in one of the comfortable banquettes surrounded by walls of wine bottles; or if the weather allows, why not relax in our pretty courtyard, particularly special in the evening, with its candlelit tables, lanterns and twinkling fairy lights?

Our passion for wine is obvious from the moment you walk over the threshold. With 40 wines by the glass and 250 by the bottle, Divino’s wine list highlights the best of Italy’s 2000+ grape varieties from its 21 wine-growing regions. Diners can experiment with ancient indigenous varietals like aglianico or try Italy’s old-world take on familiar varietals such as Chardonnay.

Taking centre stage at Divino is our ‘Enomatic’. This revolutionary wine dispenser ensures an unspoiled glass of wine every time! Enjoy a fun afternoon or evening using this new state-of-the-art invention as you decide which wine to taste next – definitely something to try!
