A great pub next to Beeston train station, even when you disembark the Nottingham bound platform you can use the gate on the platform to access the pub. Outdoor seating with infa red lamp for the cooler nights. Great real ale choice plus all the other drinks. Food excellent a great place to visitFood: 5/5
The Vic was recommended to us by a friend back in the US who studied at Nottingham, and we're so glad he did 1 because the out-of-the-way location meant we never would have found it, and 2 our experience was superb across the board. Wonderful Victorian appropriately atmosphere, extensive menu, and a very decent beer selection. Food was excellent we had the lincolnshire sausages and the paella and arrived in a flash. The staff were very welcoming, even to us clueless tourists, and there were plenty of dogs in evidence always a good sign.
Superb food and excellent beer in a real traditional setting. Good service. We had Souvalaki and Keftedes Meatballs, really tasty.Food: 5/5
Wow! Been a few times now and have not been let down. Really REALLY good food. Reasonably priced especially for the quality. £55 for two starters, two mains and two drinks. One thing I will say, which is always a big plus for my girlfriend and I, they are really dog friendly and the staff are extremely polite and attentive. Unfortunately, this is not always the case now days. Will be a regular thing for us from now on. The only negative if I am being super critical is the parking can be a problem.
Great pub with a nice atmosphere and plenty of choice of beers. First time eating here and my sandwich Victoria club was nice. However, my partner ordered the “Hungarian vegan goulash” and I don’t think it could have been any less like goulash my grandad was Hungarian and I’ve been to Hungary numerous times. Bland, tasted as though it had no paprika in it at all this is literally the most important ingredient!, and was served with garlic bread and rice. Never seen goulash served this way in my life. It’s supposed to be a soup. In short, I have no idea why this is on the menu when the place can clearly cook decent pub grub. I wasn’t expecting anything truly authentic given that it was vegan, but it was honestly an insult to Hungarian cuisine
We visit the Victoria multiple times in the year, Vic Feast, and many other seasonal occasions - we also dine there on occasions with friends. The pub is second to none, the drinks choice is extensive, and the food is exceptional. However, sadly, we visited yesterday to dine, booked a table early in the week, and again no booking existed. I know mistakes happen, but this is the third time - last time we were shunted into a corner was on Burns Night, when again our booking did not exist! Just wondering what is going wrong!
Great traditional pub next to Beeston Station. So glad to have discovered this place. Arrived from London and had a late lunch, revisited again after a long walk in the wetlands a few days later and had breakfast there on our last day before heading back to London! Friendly staff, amazing menus, seems very popular with the locals. Lots of tables reserved.
Fabulous pub with lovely staff and amazing food. Can recommend the Jamaican brown stew chicken - delicious. Food is good value for money and atmosphere on a Friday night was buzzing. Whole experience enhanced by the fact that it's a totally dog friendly establishment. We'd left our girl at home but there were some lovely doggos knocking around
What a shame, once a great pub for real ale and good food, our experience this week was disappointing. Some of the staff were rude not all,the beer was average and the food was very basic and disappointing. A real shame as we would travel to this place for a great experience, sadly after our experience we won’t bother.Food: 2/5
I love going to The Vic for Sunday lunch, it's our local and we are regulars. They are great for gluten free with different options available on the main menu. For Sunday roast there is lamb or beef available as gluten free. It does not have a Yorkshire pudding but you get extra roast potatoes. They have an extras board which includes gluten free cauliflower cheese which is delicious. From the main menu there are always a couple of options labeled gluten free and often if you ask, they can adapt dishes so they can be made gluten free. The kitchen really understands cross contamination and I have never had an issue with my food. The dish comes out with a gluten free marker on it. Vegetarian options: About half the menu is vegetarian and there are quite a few vegan/vegan alternative option. Dietary restrictions: They are very helpful with gluten free and vegan options Wheelchair accessibility: At the back of the pub there is a slope up to the pub and the beer garden is accessible. Inside the tables are quite close together which makes it harder. If busy I am pushed into the pub but may have to walk to the table and my chair is put out of the way. If you have limited mobility then inside would be ok but if you are unable to walk, the beer garden is your best option. You would be able to access the bar as there is a lot more space there. The beer garden is covered and is very nice with lights, bunting etc and they have heaters but in the winter it can get a bit cold.
