Stopped off here for a roast dinner. The parking is plentiful with no problem finding a place to park. Next to the car park is lots of outdoor seating. It was a beautiful day out so sitting out with our drinks was really peaceful. The welcome from the staff was first class and friendly. We got a table without any delays. The toilets left a little to be desired. Very outdated, not well looked after and in need of some repairs. The food was really nice. Turkey and beef were good and tasty. The carrots and the Yorkshire puddings were not good at all. This was a shame as everything else was really nice and tasty. Overall it did not spoil the meal. I loved the parsnips. I’m not normally a parsnips person but boy they were amazing. A relaxing meal well enjoyed
The carvery is excellent and exceptionally good value. The restaurant is very dated and drab. Tables left uncleared for far too long. The whole place would benefit from a deep clean.Food: 5/5
Chicken are too dry. Ice cream tastes a bit weird. The restaurant is a bit dirty overall.Food: 3/5
Food was much better this time we had carvery, the kids got free ice cream with toppings and were over the moon. Our server was top notch today and really went above and beyond so thanks Jo really appreciated it and such a better experience than when I came a few years ago Kid-friendliness: There is a play section for under 5s
We fancied a carvery so thought we may as well try some where different. Food was lovely and desserts were great, however the service wasn’t great. The pub was very quiet so not busy, one person was serving on the bar but we had to wait a long time to be served. There were several members of staff that were just walking around. We had a carvery but again we had to wait 5 minutes to be served even though members of staff saw us at the carvery station. This is a lovely pub but the service is very slow.
It’s your typical pub chain food, the carvery was pretty decent. Filling and tasty I had the large order which was a good choice. Kid-friendliness: Play area for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchair users.
The food from the carvery was good & excellent value for the money.Food: 4/5
Lovely little pub, staff are very friendly and the food seems to be fresh and up to standard from what I have seen. However, I have ordered twice from here. First thing I ordered from the app was a luxury hot chocolate that took half an hour to come, second time I ordered a glass of coke, again from the app, thinking it would come quicker as I had work and didn’t have time to wait for a hot chocolate. The glass of coke took 20 minutes to come to my table, even though the place was not too busy & I had to leave half as I had to leave for work. Overall it’s a lovely little pub, but maybe it’s easier to order at the bar than on the app.
Downsizing the size of the fish ,yet the menu states the same caloric value ,which could not possibly be true with smaller fish . First photo downsized seconds photo is what they advertise, normally the fish stretches across the plate . They also sell a daytime menu fish and chips which is smaller and a lot less calories .I asked if they had mixed up and they confirmed they had not. GIVE THE CUSTOMER WHAT YOU ARE ADVERTISING. Given the reply below I would have needed my magnifying glasses for a day time menu one at half the size of the one I got . I stand by my comment ,adjust the menu to the new suppliers fish size in terms of calories and stop conning your customers or ex customers as now is the case Riverside answered my review ,I then added my answer ,they then removed their first answer and added a new answer because they know they are conning the customer with smaller portions of fish.
Eggs was either over cooked or under cooked. The chicken was like rubber even when mentioned it to the server and was ignored. Complaint to the Chef that the eggs was like frisbees overcooked and he sent me back out a new egg undercooked felt like I was playing a game of tic for tac. Ordered a Burger with Bacon and Cheese and got in return a plain burger was served. Chef was heard shouting, the servers/waiters didn't smile or even appear to care for the service. Overall rating is I will never come back here again with my family. We even had to seat ourselves after waiting 5-10mins and had to go looking/searching for condiments due to staff being "busy" Says I purchased a extra Yorkshire pudding on my receipt that I never recieved or ordered. This place this evening was shambles, servers talk down to the customers when they raise actions regarding they're service/food. Not a safe place to eat.
