A very quirky museum with absinthe parlour serving delicious cocktails. You cannot begin to imagine some of the exhibits here. It might only be a small museum but it’s certainly jam packed with curiosities. I really enjoyed the mocktail I had in the bar area above. & the absinthe sorbet as a welcome gesture was delicious.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
So strange and quirky I almost don’t know what to say other than it’s so unique I think it is worth a visit. It’s a definite shock to the system to see so much taxidermy and other strange objects all at once so I assume you would need multiple visits, if I had been with friends I would have had drinks there too.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
What an interesting little place to spend an afternoon sipping an absinthe based cocktail. So many curiosities, macabre, strange, interesting and sometimes a little naughty. Recommend this as a great place to meet with friends and wander around.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The spiral staircase was challenging, but only because my knees are shot. Having gotten myself downstairs, however, you're in a world of weird. It's fabulous, fantastic, amazing!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
The upstairs is an absinthe parlour. The basement is an oddities museum. Loads of cool stuff and a spiral staircase. The Devil's Botany Absinthe was amaze balls.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNo
Such a quirky little place, with an absinthe bar and an odd yet fascinating museum inside. This was right up my street for tourism things to do as I always aim to go for something a bit more niche. Me and my partner loved it! I had absinthe for the first time in a cocktail which I can’t remember the name of but was made with a cherry liquor and coconut rum as well, it was so delicious! I was a little confused on why I couldn’t bring that drink down to the museum but I could bring down a glass of red wine both glass drinks but nonetheless the experience and atmosphere of the place was everything. The museum is not for the faint hearted so only go if you can hack all things filth and macabre. A definite must see if dark tourism is your thing!
An eclectic mix of curiosities, including preserved and mummified animals, nails used to crucify someone, the gold-plated skull of a hippo, and some poo purporting to have emanated from Kylie Minogue. That's just a small selection of what's there. Well worth a visit, and can be properly looked at in under an hour.
I was quite dissappointed by the place. In my opinion there is too much chaos. The exhibits are not described properly, most of the times you don't know what you are looking at. Glasses were dity, there were some bugs running on exhibits. Looks like no one is taking care about the place. "Museum" is really super small and the price is too high. You don't know what is real and what fake. By the name, first look and PR around this place I expected something more clean and organised. PS. It is better to book tickets in advance -> you might meet private event and not be let in.
Loved this place . It's a quirky little museum in the basement of an Absinthe bar in far flung London. There are so many weird and wonderful things to see here. It has odd things like Russell Brands public hair but I wanted the odd, the unusual, the curios of this world. It's well worth a visit and stay for a drink afterVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
I can still taste the cocktails. Every aspect was amazing. The weird and cooky display of oddities was well worth it.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
