Amazing. When you are worried and stressed sometimes you just nice compassion. From the moment I walked in, the lady at the desk was so friendly and kind. The vet was amazing, kept me calm. Checked over my dog and gave good advice. Explained everything and took me through steps for the following day. Amazing, kind staff. Who deserve the world for all they do to keep our pets well.
Mixed feelings. Never had to use an emergency vet before so the positive was that our dogs immediate pain was slightly relieved enough to last until the following day having surgery at our vets. The negative was the huge cost for 3 hours of the surgeries time and a sedative. The vet we spoke to was lovely and tried to help keep the cost down, but I have no idea what we actually paid for.
Rushed our little Jack Russell into Gateshead Vets Now on Sunday 14th morning, really poorly passing blood, staff were brilliant with her she stayed overnight and was so well looked after I couldn't ask for more caring people. She is now on the mend thanks to them and the excellent service and advice
A bit of a wait due to emergencies which is to be expected at an emergency vet’s. Took a while to be seen due to not being a room available. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Made cost of service clear straight away and support was available for claiming on pet insurance. Waiting area could be more comfortable - nowhere to go for a coffee/ warm to sit on a Sunday after 4pm.
The vet who attended to my cat was lovely. Her name was Lisa. She was very thorough, informative and performed all the necessary tests and treatment that my cat needed. Even my cat seemed to like the vet, and she doesn't like anyone. My only issue, and reason for the 4 stars is the consultation cost. Treatment costs, I understand, it's expensive. But to charge £288 just for the consultation alone. That is excessive and the only thing which let the service down.
Our dog was attached by a pack of dogs so we sought emergency, out of hours treatment. The care we received was outstanding and without doubt aided my dog’s speedy recovery. The vet was so lovely, putting both my dog and us at ease. My dog arrived with large and deep wounds which were hard to dress due to their awkward position. The vet did such a good job that when we visited our day vet the following morning, my dog’s wounds were already starting to knit together so she didn’t need to go through the ordeal of having stitches, we were amazed. I hope she manages to receive this feedback, we are so grateful.
My dog got put down yesterday they were very freindly and we were saw fast they found out what was wrong with her in 5 minutes as she had over 30 seizures within 1hr 30 and to be expected it was costy £400 pound to get her put down and it ended up at £556. Due to the assessment and the urns and caskets are quite small but very good would recommend
Absolute disgusting service from this vets. We got given this number by our local vet where it was closed with it being New Year’s Day. We rang the vets to see if it was possible for a vet to come out and put him to sleep as his back end had gone and wasn’t very well at all. After explaining to them about 10 times that we couldn’t get the dog into a car as it was impossible to move him we got told that we would receive a call later on in the day totally appreciate it was busy and only 2 vets working Then we received a text from the vets saying it would cost £1100 to come out to put him to sleep but we need to get rid of the body ourselves - as if this was hard enough having to deal with all of this we had to get rid of his poor body… so you are happy enough to come out and rip our eyes out but then just leave him here for us to dispose of him ourselves? Am not been funny but that’s an absolute joke from yourselves and you should be ashamed. So we called back to query this and the woman on the phone said if we can bring him into the vets it would only be £380…. And you can dispose of his body. So you want an extra £700 to drive 10 minutes down the road and expect us to deal with the rest? After the most worst experience having to watch your dog go through, this vets just Didint care at all. It’s not about the money as we would pay anything not to see our poor boy suffering.. it’s the fact that we would have been left to deal with the aftermath of it all… Absolutely shocking - you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Really calming over the phone, explained the costing thoroughly. We were seen relatively quickly once we arrived and the vet who treated our dog was very knowledgeable and caring. She made us feel reassured and explained our options after leaving the practice.
Ben the vet was lovely but I'm furious at having to pay £25 for the receptionist to sort the claim out for the pet insurance when I had to do it all myself. Dont you think £288 is enough to pay for a consultation. We should be refunded the £25 because no one claimed on my behalf. Beware, make your own claim, dont pay them the £25 to do it for you. Massive scam to take money from hard working low paid families who adore their pets
