Watched Mother's Cake last night who absolutely rocked the joint. Awesome venue with in the round gig area which is just superb. Gave a much more intimate feel watching live music this way! Loved the little seating areas scattered around and the general feel of the place. Door staff were very friendly and helpful letting me store my brolly at the entrance till I was ready to leave. The toilet was a source of amusement as it the longest loo I have ever been in and for a split second I thought I had slipped into the twilight zone as I have never seen a cubicle that long!
AMAZING staff!! Shout out to Iris I think that was their name, the person with pink hair behind the bar and security for sorting out a very creepy dude swiftly, without causing a fuss or questioning us about it. Really friendly staff, songs are banging too. Few safe spaces like this for alternative folk, will be coming back!
Always end up here after a couple drinks for a dance and singalong. The vibe is good and the drinks are affordable, my only qualm is that the raised dance floor area creates a bit of a walking hazard sometimes when you are dancing near to the edges, or walking around on the slightly lower ground floor. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes an alternative singalong and dance : I've always found the staff and customers to be friendly and helpful
One of my favourite places in Manchester. Good prices, 2 rooms 1 heavy and one 2000s rock, amazing atmosphere, never seen any problems. I also got asked to leave on Saturday Rightly so because I'd drank too much and a bouncer saw me stumble. The reason I've given 5 stars other than what I've already said, the bouncer was discreet, polite and handled it extremely well, which is rare. Been multiple times and will be going back.
Amazing music and amazing staff. They really looked after us when one of our friends had too much to drink, their hospitality is incredible and their prices are even better. Couldn’t recommend this place more!
Went to this place for the first time last night with high hopes. Sadly it did not live up to expectations! The decor is great but oh my god, the music last night was horrendous. Every song played was of the Blink 182, Sum 41 and the Offspring genre but not even their well known songs, just random ones that nobody knows or cares about. Of all the amazing rock music to choose from and this was the best they could do?! Sack the DJ.
As a venue, this has major promise. But this is not the case. Djs cannot read the room, failing to play anything that really makes for a good vibe or atmosphere. Requests are great, but if it isn't landing with the crowd, maybe try a different angle. Bar staff need to be clear in their serving. If someone asks for a whisky coke, maybe staff should consider asking whether a person is actually after single malt or a bourbon bourbon being more common. Don't just assume and make a drink. It's not hard, and it's easy just to ask the question so as not to ruin a person's experience. I have been to satans on numerous occasions and it has slowly deteriorated from the pinnacle of metal clubs to a much lower standard.
Got assaulted by the door staff. They asked me to stop moshing, so I stopped. Next song we were just jumping a having a good time, the security person grabbed me and took me outside. Back in the door I asked for my jacket as it was cold outside, they didn't wait till my clothes were on me and I got reduced by a bouncer from the back in an aggressive way. No need to those ways I only wanted my jacket... Nasty! Will not comeback.
So as much as I love this place. You need a better choice of bouncers. A girl who was part of our group was quite drunk so I waited with her to make sure she got in a taxi safe. 3am on the minute. The bouncer Emily decided she would take it in her power to not let me come back to my friends after making sure one of our group got home safe. I then had to sit outside while I recieved sarcastic comments from herself about how I couldnt re enter just to meet my friends. I had litterally been in all night and to be nice I had to make sure my friend got home safe I walked her to a taxi. Her judgement has left you losing a customer who loves this venue. I come to satans regularly and this has completely ruined my experience as all I was doing was trying to make sure a young lady was getting home safe. It makes me reflect that your staff doesn't care about their customers other than doing their bouncing job because they feel they have power. I will be attending other venues in future as your bouncers decide they would like to be sarcastic and have an attitude about making sure a person gets home safe.m
A decent club that is really being let down by the door staff/ security. They all seem to be on some sort of power trip and have no manners at all, treating you like you’ve done something wrong before you’ve even stepped a foot in the place. It’s just unnecessary and a huge mood dampener.
