Visited Thurs 16/02/23. It was so nice we did the 17/02/23 too! Food was really really nice. Staff were excellent. We travelled up from Cardiff for a Family Funeral, stayed at The Prem Inn. We last came here 6 years ago, so thought we'd give it another go. Definitely not disappointed. Fish & Chips on both nights were fantastic, Macaroni cheese, burger and Carvery, all perfect! Gammon and nachos really nice too. Everything was spot on, Inc the John Smiths beer for me. A big well done to all involved, thank you very much Photos from 17th Cheers
Always have a lovely carvery here. Upon last visit, I had fish and chips, which I did not enjoy. It seemed overcooked and flat compared to my dad's, who also visited. It was busy that day, but we had to wait 40 minutes for our drinks and a further 15 for our food. My uncle visited from abroad, and he was in a hurry, so he had to leave halfway through his meal as he didn't expect to wait that long. I was really disappointed. I've put this experience down to a bad day and will return, but I won't be ordering anything other than a carvery. It is a decent pub with plenty of free parking. Can eat inside and out. 2 separate toilet facilities within the building and has a children's play area. Decent prices and decent food usually. Great location, just off the A1. Kid-friendliness: Play are at the rear of the building.
Great friendly service from Carol. We visited on 10.02.2023. We had carvery and my daughter had fish fingers and chips which was served quickly and very fresh. The carvery was decent although the roast potatoes were about cremated. Good value for money.
We had been shopping nearby and had the pangs of hunger and remembered that we had been to this abode several times in the past. Therefore it was an easy decision to have something to eat here. As usual it was pretty full with a good friendly atmosphere, the staff were courteous and the food was very good plus we did not have to wait very long to eat. Would definitely recommend.
It's been a while since I was last here, but it seems like it has a new lease of life. Everything from ordering at the bar to eating my mixed meat carvery was 5 star. As a taxi driver, I like to be eating good quality food, which will last me for the shift. Please thank the nice staff for a great service.Food: 5/5
We have just been for breakfast today. It was terrible. No eggs, no hash browns, no mushrooms, the toasts was warm bread, the bacon was so salty. The sausage and beans were ok but that was about it. The hot water for tea was empty and so was the coffee. It’s the front of house staff I feel sorry for covering for the bad performance of the kitchen staff. They offered to bring mushrooms over after we had waited a good 10 minutes. By the time they came with the mushrooms we had finished what we were able to eat and were ready to leave. We used to call regularly for a breakfast at a weekend but it went down hill. Because we hadn’t been for a while we thought we would give it another go. Big mistake won’t be going back again
Not great to be honest. Bought two breakfasts and two muffin sandwiches for the kids. No eggs which is fine as they mentioned it and there were signs on display but then having to charge you the same price along with burnt bacon and muffins. Kids hardly touched it. Positive - the lady at the till was polite but didnt seem 100% sure how to work the till confidently Maybe she was new? Also they closed the breakfast bar at 11am when the menu says 12.
Booked Sunday lunch well in advance for Mother's Day with family, including small child as it's usually a nice clean and family friendly. On arriving today, we were informed we had 1 hour from booking time to finish the meal and leave, which was not pointed out while booking. What made it worse was one of the floor staff, actually come to the table to inform use we had to leave in 25 minutes, this given they had issues with the tills taking orders. The management really need to take a long look at themselves as this was more like speed dating than a relaxed family meal on Mother's Day. Shame on you.
Had a very nice carvery, but the apple crumble was delightful, lovely and hot . The carvery could have been a bit hotter but I know it's hard keeping thing hot .Nathan was very pleasant and helpful on the carvery as were all the other staff. All in all a very pleasant lunch Kid-friendliness: Didn't have kids with us ,but seemed to be very kid friendly
We normally eat at Wearside Farm but fancied a change. Valley Farm was excellent. The service and cleanliness was spot on.. The carvery was fresh , hot and delicious. If I could give it a 6 star I would. Would definitely return.
