One of the best heritage train rides I've ever had. The hour long journey was punctual. The scenery was stunning even though it's was sun shine and torrential rain at times. We sat in one of the open carriages and loved it - yes we did get a little wet, but the sound, smell, warmth of the engine we were right at the front as well as the wind was an experience I will remember for years to come. Well worth the prices. We went up on the first train and did a walk round Devils Bridge Falls and skipped a train so we weren't in a rush so we could get a coffee etc. The cafe at Devils Bridge station can get very busy when a train arrives so.
Attended the Festival of Steam today and couldn't fault any of the staff that were on hand to make the day extremely memorable for the family. They had a lovely selection of steam trains/locomotives and the whole place was clean tidy and well looked after. It felt like a trip down memory lane and everyone played their part. I felt the customer service was excellent and that they went above and beyond to ensure we had a great visit. I would definitely recommend it to any young families looking for a day out and for anyone that wants to visit Devils Bridge and from a different perspective.
A pleasant trip up the Vale of Rheidol to the famous Punch Bowl and falls at Devils Bridge.nTake a 45 minute walk to see the best of the falls at £4 per person. Make sure you have shoes with good grips as the steps can be damp and a little slippery
We’re not train lovers like some, but We loved the experience..seeing the views from a different angle and where cars cannot go. We sat in open carriage, I recommend you take sunglasses to protect your eyes from debris and soot, we stopped at Devils Bridge, had choice of 2 later trains to comeback on. This gave us time to see the waterfalls and time for lunch
I had a lovely train ride from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge x. The scenery at the beginning of the journey was not very scenic. However, when a little further along was spectacular. It was quite expensive but worth it. The staff were polite and helpful and were really lovely x
