Really helpful staff.nGreat location.nAs always, great nights sleep.nCar parking good value for town centre, first come first served.
A decent premier inn in a good location. My last premier inn experience was poor in London, so pleased that this worked out well. We were lucky enough to have a sea front view and large room. Breakfast was great and efficient. Staff were all very pleasant. I realise Premier Inns are not actual 4 stars but this one is better than the others I have stayed at so wanted to mark it up a bit.
We recently stayed at the hotel for three nights, paying around £500 in total.nThe main issue we experienced was with the parking. When we arrived, my husband asked about parking, but the staff never explained that we needed to pay separately at a machine. Based on their response, we understood that parking was included in the price we had already paid, and there was nothing further we needed to do.nBefore checking out, I even asked if there was anything else we needed to pay, and they simply told me to leave the room keys at reception.nnToday, however, we received two letters from a private parking company — apparently responsible for managing the hotel's parking — demanding £57 per day for two of the days we parked there. Since we stayed for four days, we expect two more letters to arrive, meaning we could end up being charged up to £228.nnMy husband called the hotel to ask if they could do anything to help, but they insisted they always inform guests about parking and said it wasn’t their responsibility. Unfortunately, because we cannot prove that they failed to inform us, we are now facing charges far higher than the actual parking cost, which should have been £7 per day or even less with the guest discount.nnWe want to be clear: we never intended to avoid paying for parking, and we were always willing to pay any required fees. It feels incredibly unfair to be treated this way, especially when it was their failure to provide clear information that caused the problem.nnWe will definitely not be staying at a Premier Inn again.
Have stayed here a few times now and have been fairly happy overall however the last twice I have stayed 3 weeks apart the lifts have broken meaning the stairs was the only option to get down and outside. I have a back injury and arthritis in both knees with effects my mobility, I wasn’t made aware that the lift had broken down until I went to it the next morning to leave and was faced with the notice, only one of the lifts were in working order anyway so there was no backup.nnThe rooms are clean and have air conditioning however as I discovered not every room has a bath, the shower basin is slippery on entry and there is a step to get in and out. I don’t see the tiny tag hanging off the radiator advising to ask reception if a bath mat is required until after I had showered and taken the towels off the radiator. Maybe in rooms where there is only a shower a bath mat should be put in there as standard?nnThe receptionist on arrival was very friendly and welcoming however reception is not manned all the time.nnLocation is very good it’s right on the seafront so very accessible to the beach and town. There is a car park around the back of the hotel which is £7 per night, plenty of spaces and you can come and go as you please during your stay.nnI will stay again as it’s comfortable the best nights sleep I have! and convenient however will be asking before going up to my room if it has a bath so that I can request a bath mat on arrival.
Wasn’t quite the experience we are used to from other Premier Inn hotels.nnWhat bothered us most was that one of the two elevators was out of order, which would have been fine if the other would have worked normally. But turns out you weren’t able to call the elevator from the first floor, which is inconvenient when you are traveling with a stroller. The offered alternative is to call the reception, which isn’t a feasible alternative if you have a foreign phone line without free international phone calls.nnWhat we also disliked was that there were no hash browns available for breakfast at 8 am on a Monday evening though they’re clearly advertised as part of their breakfast. When we asked the staff just rudely replied that they have ran out.nnOther than that the hotel was fine, parking was available right in front of the house.
