As much as I like the idea of playing golf, it turns out I am pretty rubbish at it so it is good to practice in this sectioned indoor setting! It is perfect for everyone who even has a slight interest in playing golf or just socialising over some beers. I expect it would be great for corporate events with everyone competing! Urban golf is pretty much a golf simulation with real clubs and balls which you hit at a screen which can detect speed, direction and trajectory to calculate your strike. It takes a while to get a feel for it especially putting but it is a great alternative to playing in the cold. Get a few of your mates together, get some beers in and get rid of some aggression, great fun!
In a sleek environment in a soho basement, Urban Golf is a way o getting on the golf course without the need for plus fours a lot of gear and having to walk. The simulators are decent, but don't go in expecting photo realism., and occasionally they are not totally accurate. however as long as you go in with a group and have a few beers it's great fun. The prices are a little steep, it's cheaper to actually play a round, but this aspires to be a premium set up and charges so , so the beers are also not particularly cheap either. Good executive fun for whacking a few golf balls mocking your mates , just don't be expecting world championship quality
Had no idea what to expect but pleasantly surprised with such an awesome atmosphere!!! Haven't played golf in a few years and it definitely showed but got amazing advice from the skilled staff and decided would have to bring my mates back for a laugh they are terribly uncoordinated. Second time just as great if not better, hired a couple of simulators and had a friendly competition even the what seemed to be professional players next to us had a good laugh probably at us but overall really, REALLY good time. HIGHLY recommend!
I never liked the concept of golf but I this new high tech approach to it very appealing so I decided to give it a try and visited this place. I wasn't in anyway disappointed with the experience despite the fact that I hardly had a par. Personally for me a big plus was that you are able to drink a beer or two while practicing your swing. Some say that hitting golf balls in a basement takes out most of the fun away from golfing and the simulator isn't accurate from time to time but do those things really matter as long as you're having genuine fun? The answer at least for me is no.
Although I've never posted a review before, after my experience here last night I feel compelled to do so..... First impressions of an aesthetically pleasing set up quickly deflate to a potent annoyance at having been conned. The simulators work in a largely arbitrary way, giving little realistic idea of one's performance. In particular the distance one's putt travels seems entirely down to chance. Comparable to a rather dated computer game especially when taking into account the poor graphics which depict the course as a smudge of greens 10 feet in front of you. The £10 burger was roughly the quality one would expect in a Motorway lay-by whilst the bar peddles £3.50 bottles of beer rather than pints. A 12.5% charge is added for the poor service. End result was over £150 for two hours of the sub-standard computer game, the equivalent of 3 pints and two burgers. I would be surprised if anyone returned for a second round. Steer clear!
Great simulators, good fun in a group with a few beers and also great for serious practice. I've had lessons with James which have been fantastic he's helped my halve my handicap over the last two years. Thanks!
The equipment felt old and worn. The sensors where not very accurate. But it’s good fun for an hour and it’s well located. The service was slow when we were there but staff was friendly.
Attentive and efficient staff, great food, drinks and service...oh and the golf is great fun too! Overall fantastic excuse to get a group of mates together in central London.
Good fun, not for golf novices, we only done 4holes and none of us even got on to the green.
Good place ! To chill relax .. and zero riff raff in there top quality place to chill
