Absolutely excellent surgery, always willing to support you in a professional and timely manner. Appointments are straightforward to organise and 95% of the time I am seen on the day of my phone call. Every doctor I have spoken to from this clinic has demonstrated a quality bedside manner fundamental for any physician and all are helpful and efficient. Highly recommended.
I had a blood test this morning with the phlebotomist, Mary, who was really patient and lovely with me when she realised I wasn't very good at having blood tests! I had to go back into her room because I felt so queasy, and I think I might have put her behind schedule, but she was kind and chatted with me until I felt better.
This practice offers phone call GP appointments, which would be fine if their phones actually worked. Every call that you have with doctors and receptionists alike consists of slowly saying the same information over and over. They need to replace the phones or have work done on the phone lines if the bulk of GP appointments are to occur over the phone. As it is, it's very difficult to be understood, and GPs could be missing critical information that their patients are trying to communicate. When I attempted to communicate this problem to the staff, they insisted that it was a problem just that I'm having. This is simply untrue, as I have made calls from different phones from different places in the country. The practice needs to stop denying that this is a huge problem that needs to be addressed.
I do not write many reviews but the staff at University Medical Practice have been incredible. Dr Vora, the nurse who took my bloods, receptionists and lovely paramedic have been amazing. They are very quick with giving appointments on the day, no point did I feel rushed and were they are very thorough. Very grateful to Dr Vora who has been very patient and reassuring towards my Heath + mental health. As a student this is the best practice I’ve been to.
Very happy with standard of care recieved at UMP. I've had some real difficulty with blood draws in the past, have had to visit hospital, but got done very quick and painless with Sashi.
After my injury Lianne took amazing care of me throughout the whole recovery process. She is the most kind-hearted person supporting every single one of her patients. Clearly, her knowledge and ability to manage my complex injury saved me a lot of stress and time. I felt confident having Lianne next to me throughout recovery process and her support gave me strength.
Been here for 3 years as a university student. The nurse who took bloods and did ECGs was fantastic. But I felt so uncomfortable making appointments as I felt like I was wasting time for important issues, I tried making an appointment with my GP but receptionist said I couldn’t and instead needed to come in for urine tests and observations from the nurse- I didn’t even get to see my GP. Multiple times I have been dismissed for issues that I actually needed help with. It has taken me ages to change GP surgery but I wish I had done it sooner.
Top GP, both responsive and reliable. You can call up for either morning appointments at 8:45am or afternoon appointments at 1:45pm. Very easy to get an appointment with the nurse too. The receptionists have always been very helpful and welcoming for the time I have been here. In particular, Lianne is a very good nurse, always going the extra mile and is fantastic at what she does. Highly recommend!
Although this practice has been through a rough patch like most GP practices in the past 2 years, huge improvements have been recently made with the appointment of a new practice manager. Telephone communication is much improved with quick, courteous and efficient response. Access is welcoming and friendly and the quality of medical input is first rate. Highly recommended.
Generally they tend to be okay and are courteous, however it's almost impossible to get an appointment, especially if it's urgent, leading me to call 111 instead. I have to order antidepressants and sometimes I can't always order it when I need due to my disability. They didn't have any appointments and then the receptionist ended up replying rudely with "well why didn't you order it on time then?" Which I had to explain my disorder...which I'm ordering medication for... very frustrating and upsetting experience.
