I went to UCB for 2 years and finished my Level 3 Construction & the Build Environment course. One of the best College or University in Birmingham education wise but would’ve been five star if it was safe. It should be safe because it’s near city centre. As a Muslim there are 2 mosques around the college one is on Lionel Street Masjid which is like under a bridge i’ll post a picture of the street below and the other branch of the mosque is on a street near the fountain where the Town-hall is.nnOverall Tutors are amazing, they do their best but it’s always up to the student how much work they put in.
The university is focusing too much on these fads rather than actual university delivery and I think that’s the main issue. The guild are too busy focusing on the international students teaching and entertainment and universities too focused on the new bluebell restaurant and the sixth form while all the other provisions aren’t doing as well and my son‘s part of that percentage of people that was in that article that was written about this university that haven’t been able to find employment after graduating and their employability after they finish is rather bad. No wonder my friend has had to go to another university for his masters degree because he’s not being able to get employment for last year and a half from the college and undergraduate degree and the service delivery of that for him and my son has been very bad and a study space and the attention to detail for that has been awful
I have been at the college now for over a year and am into my second year. The teaching staff I have are absolutely amazing. I have heard other things from pupils on different courses however. I don’t feel safe at college, I witnessed a stabbing whilst eating my lunch in the canteen back in September. More needs to be done to improve the safety to students and teachers.
This college has been extremely disappointing. The teachers do not teach properly and often fail to explain concepts clearly, leaving us confused and unprepared. There is a serious lack of coordination and communication among the faculty, which results in overlapping topics, missed portions of the syllabus, and inconsistent information being given to us. Teachers rarely respond to questions or concerns, and there seems to be no structured approach to learning. Overall, the poor teaching quality and lack of communication make it very difficult for us to succeed academically. This explains why less then 20% of last years level 3 electrical installations passed the course. If you are looking for a college i suggest you look else where!
*Warning to Prospective Students*nNot deserve even 1 star.very disappointed.nI'm writing to share my disappointing experience with university college birmingham. Despite promises of academic excellence and support, I found the university to be unhelpful and intimidating. When facing financial difficulties, I saw students met with threats to block student ID and even deportation. The lack of empathy and support was staggering. If you're considering studying here, proceed with caution. Research thoroughly and prioritize your well-being. There are universities that genuinely care about their students' success.
