Great uni experience so far, the rugby team is cracker great coaching from Brad and loads of facilities available for us like strength and conditioning coaching and stem clinic for recovery. The coaching top notch definitely see all the lads getting better by the week and a really strong side for playing social rugby
Really poorly managed and it just felt like I was walking on eggshells with a lot of stress and a lot of anxiety because the staff didn’t put the effort into look out for me like I used to at hospitality at college ever since my first year everything started to go down here when Derek left and the trauma the issues the mental health impact this university has had on me there’s been no apology noway to fix it because I’ve really got nothing out of it but because I have moved away from it it has been the best thing that I’ve done but I really hate to say everything that the digital marketing course was meant to be wasn’t and it was just all false promises and never actually solving the issues. I just feel there’s lots of different failures on the university the disability services and the well-being services with fantastic however there’s a lot of failures and lots of mental health issues and impacts that I have now got since going to this university and the failures by this university to sort out key issues and key problems that I was facing.
I finished my degree in Sports and Fitness Studies. During my three years, my teachers was really supportive. In my opinion, this university is really helpful as due the facilities that they provide, specially for practical courses. I am working as a students ambassador, that helping me to meet new people, learn new skills and contribute in events. The hired department provide support to students when they finish the degree, is really helpful for the first moments in jobs market.
I graduated from UCB in 2015 and I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for the support from the lectures and the additional staff. During my three year Sports Therapy course, I was able to go into the field of work of my choice medical clinics during my placements and gain ample experiences along the way. Since then, I have managed to my own injury clinic SN Clinic - www.snclinic.co.uk and work with along side other qualified therapists, one who also graduated from UCB. I would recommended this Uni to help shape your future.
I had an excellent experience at UCB. The lecturers and all support staff are wonderful and helpful. The university has a range of facilities for students from assignment support, library, study spaces to one on one support with lecturers to check your progress as well as being part of an amazing community. They also provide job support and help with applications and CV to prepare you for the future and they provide support for 5 years after you graduate. With its state of art facilities, lovely staff and student community and very accessible location 10 min from New Street Station, I would choose UCB again in a heartbeat!
I completed my MSc Enterprise Management course at University College Birmingham in 2022. I must say that in addition to the academic program, the UCB Business School placed a strong emphasis on my personal and professional development. Through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one sessions with the CASE team and the career advisor, I was able to hone my leadership abilities, communication skills, and entrepreneurial mindset, all of which are essential for success in today's competitive business world. My time at Uni has been inspirational and transformative. We were lucky to have excellent teachers in the Business department. Their depth of knowledge, passion for teaching, and unwavering dedication to our success were genuinely inspiring. The skills and experiences gained have prepared me for a successful career and instilled in me a passion for entrepreneurship and teaching that I successfully combine now in my role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone looking to take their career in enterprise management to the next level.
Having studied at University College Birmingham, I was exposed to a high standard of training and development within the College of Food, with extensive facilities and opportunities available for students to get involved in and an excellent reputation to go with it. The University provided extensive placement opportunities, enabling me to explore living and working in a different country as part of my degree. My mentors supported me well throughout my time at the University. Even after I had graduated, my connections and networking helped me pursue a long-term career in food development.
My Academic Years at University College Birmingham During my time at University College Birmingham, I had the privilege of being part of the Business Department while studying Enterprise management. This department is a true centre of excellence, delivering high-quality higher education and producing graduates who excel across various sectors. The lecturers were nothing short of exceptional. Their passion for teaching and their subject matter was contagious. They didn’t just impart knowledge; they ignited curiosity and encouraged critical thinking. Whether it was discussing market trends, exploring case studies, or diving into entrepreneurial concepts, they made every class engaging. Their dedication extended beyond the classroom—they were approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in our success. Professor Bev Compaore, in particular, was inspiring. Her expertise and industry connections enriched our learning experience. She emphasised the entrepreneurial mindset, urging us to think beyond textbooks and embrace innovation. Her guidance shaped my perspective on business management, and I’m grateful for her mentorship. Being a university student was an adventure—a blend of hard work, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments. Here are a few things that made it special: I found lifelong friends among my peers. Late-night study sessions turned into laughter-filled memories. We celebrated victories together and supported each other during challenging times. These bonds remain cherished. The vibrant campus buzzed with energy. Every space had a story, from bustling cafeterias to quiet corners in the library. I’ll forever associate the aroma of coffee with late-night essay writing. There was always something happening, whether it was joining the debate club, attending guest lectures, or participating in charity drives. These extracurricular activities enriched my university experience. Ah, and that lovely trip to Liverpool—the city of music, culture, and history. Our university organised a trip which remains etched in my heart for many reasons. As I reflect on those years, I realise that University College Birmingham wasn’t just about academics—it was about growth, connections, and building a foundation for life. Thank you, UCB, for shaping me into the professional I am today. These memories will always be my compass, guiding me toward new horizons.
Cannot speak highly enough of this institution. Amazing facilities and all the staff around campus are incredibly kind. Truly grateful to be a student here and be part of the first cohort on the Mental Health Nursing degree. My favourite thing about UCB is the staff. We have some of the most caring and knowledgeable nurses I have ever met teaching us. They make it place where you want to be, and they give their all when they are teaching us. The lecturers and the third year students got us accustomed to the university, so we know where everything is. The lecturing team do what they can to support us and ensure we are progressing throughout the course but also ensure we are doing well individually. UCB’s student wellbeing services are also on hand if things are overwhelming or the student’s need someone to talk to. The facilities are spotless, and it is easy to navigate around campus. I am so happy I chose UCB and appreciate how much they care about student wellbeing. I am so grateful for the friends I have made in the course, the high standard of teaching and the wonderful staff who truly care about you and want to see you succeed and support you in the best way possible. #GoUCB
Lucky to go to the catering college and enjoy a 3 course dinner prepared and served by the students. A great experience, amazing food, think fine dining, and a nice venue. Good drink options of wine, beer and non alcoholic drinks. Great value for money.
