Despite the reviews, it is not the best place reminiscent of good ol' Sarfend! Place is terrible, opened whenever they feel to open. Understaffed, staffed with young kids = zero customer service. Small choice of take away food micro waved. Choice of ice cream as poor as poor can be, the nice dairy milk ice creams they used to stock are gone! Sadly if you come to that neck of the wood, there is no competition whatsoever... So it's take it or leave it!
If you're up for paying £14.55 for three bog standard ice creams out of a machine then this is the place for you. If, like me, you think this is absolutely extortionate and quite frankly, ripping people off, you won't bother. I walked away when the girl told me the price, can I suggest the owner has a think about how completely unreasonably priced this place is, I'm sure you can still make profit without totally rinsing people!
There’s not A lot on offer refreshment wise in this part of Shoebury. So, uncle toms cabin does offer a good selection of snacks and ice creams. However opening times are mixed and I do feel this place has the potential to be better.
Visited here today for a coffee. We were served half a cup of froth & paid above the average price. This place could do so well as the location is perfect! We chose to visit The Peterboat instead which was 10 times better! Definitely one to avoid.
Very expensive. Nice ice-cream. Paid about 5 pounds a ice-cream should have been about 2.50
Visited today as we took our young dog to the beach for his third visit before the beaches are closed for dogs. My husband & I had two toasted triple cheese sandwiches with teas. They were quite nice & tasty but we were not told when the sandwiches we're ready nor that we should wait at the counter for them so when my husband went to enquire if they were ready he was told they had been for some time & were sitting on the side getting cold. The assistant warmed them up again but the cheese was still only just warm inside. Next time we'll wait at the counter. They offer quite a variety of snacks & it's nice to be able to sit inside with your dog. Another bonus is they also have water bowls & sell "doggy ice cream" which is absolutely delicious or so my dog thought the way he gobble it down. Nice to enjoy a cuppa, snack & ice cream on an afternoon out.
What a shame, they could do so much with this place a proper restaurant or tea rooms no competition from anywhere but it's just basically an understocked shop which has so much potential, get some seating and make it more inviting and some staff who at least look interested!!

Visited on the 9th October. Beautiful place,clean tidy,sold everything that u could ask for..NOT too expensive either.
Looks like a dump. Empty boxes in the corner, must be about 70. They sell all types of food but doesn't look appetising. I saw about 10 ice cream machine just sitting in the corner... poor
