Two things really stand out since the refurbishment of this restaurant, which are a real problem.nnFirstly, the online QR code at seat ordering system either doesn’t work or the kitchen were making up excuses for poor service , which I suspect because I have been to this place twice now and experienced a delay of over one hour from ordering to delivery.nnOn the day that I visited today, we waited over an hour for food delivery to the table when it was not particularly busy. After having called different members of staff on four occasions, asking for the duty manager and then finally the senior duty manager, I was able to at least get compensation for the food not arriving in a prompt mannernnSecondly, the salad bar is really rundown and the tables were full of used plates. When I pointed this out to the duty manager, nothing was made of it at all.nnOverall, this restaurant is not run correctly and is a disgrace to the Harvester brand which frankly was never that great in the first place.nnNo idea if people in the area of Southend care about Google reviews but I really recommend if anyone is reading this they should give this restaurant a mess until management have a serious discussion with head office about how to run this restaurant properly.nnLeaving two stars for the vague attempt of reconciliation by the duty manager, however the three stars are missing due to the poor quality of food, poor quality of cleanliness and dubious reasons for the food coming out one hour late.
First visit to this branch, and not impressed at all. The place is run down and needs refurbishment. Part of carpet is very dirty and sticky, salad bar area is very slippery and the area where its floor is tiled is also slippery. Cabin/booth seats needs changing badly.nnFood is like any Harvester, had to wait a little longer for main meal, restaurant was not busy.nnStaff do not look interested at all.nnOnly positive is the parking.nnWould not visit until refurbishment has ben taken place. Very poorly managed.
Abby was such a delightful host and very accommodating! Lovely interior now that it’s all been done up! Much nicer than before, a nice calm atmosphere at breakfast when we went.
DO NOT COME HERE!nCame here for lunch with a friend we received our salad bowl and went to serve our salad while eating our salad we spotted a maggot! As you can imagine we felt nauseated we showed our waiter and she was very apologetic however, when the manager came over, we were provided no reassurance that this wouldn’t happen again. We were mortified and I would not suggest going here!!
Very impressed with the recent upgrade to the restaurant decor, loved being able to look out onto the wind surfers.nHad a lovely meal out, great food and well stocked salad bar - our server Liam was happy, professional and very helpful!nWill definitely be returning..
