During my visit to the London College of Communication at the University of the Arts London, I was captivated by the vibrant creative atmosphere that permeated the campus. The innovative design of the facilities, coupled with the diverse array of artwork on display, truly showcased the talent and passion of the students. Engaging with faculty members and students alike, I gained valuable insights into the rigorous academic programs and the collaborative spirit that defines the institution. Exploring the cutting-edge multimedia studios and attending a thought-provoking lecture left me inspired and eager to further explore the world of visual communication and design. My experience at the London College of Communication was enriching and unforgettable, solidifying my admiration for the institution and its commitment to fostering creativity and excellence in the arts.
Wi fi quality is very poor. I’ve been studying here for more than 6 months now, and regularly experience network disconnecting in a random time of a day. Very frustrating especially for such big and expensive institution.
The univesity hosts exhibitions at the copeland gallery for a couple of the courses there. They then use as propoganda on their online platforms, as if to entice people to apply for the institute as it seems like they will be given many opportunities.nnWhen they post only 50% of the work there and your work is ignored however, it will make you feel somewhat depressed.nnNot only this but you will probably suffer through depression at this school for many reasons.nnI was happy in college and then had a gap year, which i was also happy during. Now i started this school i became very depressed.nnTeachers are moody, rude, and not very intelligent. Art is subjective, the teachers are too critical because it’s a biased grade at the end of the day. The grades aren't based on anything. If the teacher is stupid and doesn’t understand your abstract work. You’ll get a bad grade.

Despite the university’s claims of providing opportunities for students and alumni, I feel that I have continually slipped through the cracks and have been left without the necessary assistance to rebuild my life after everything that transpired during my time there.nnMy experiences at UAL were incredibly difficult and, quite frankly, traumatic. The unjust suspension, the legal issues that followed, and the long-term impact on my mental health and financial stability have been devastating. Since then, I have faced severe hardship, including a period of homelessness. Though I now have a place to stay, the long-term damage caused by those events has left me struggling to move forward.nnThroughout my time at UAL, I felt targeted, marginalized, and misrepresented. Instead of being supported as a Black student navigating university life, I was systematically broken down. This mistreatment, paired with the fact that I have had no real opportunities for assistance from UAL since I left, has left me in a precarious position.nnIt feels as though UAL promotes a narrative of providing opportunities for alumni, yet in my case, those opportunities have been non-existent. I continue to fall through the cracks despite the supposed resources and networks the university claims to offer.nnI am now asking for direct assistance—not vague offers of opportunities, but real, tangible support. I need help regaining stability, healing from the emotional and mental toll this experience has caused, and accessing the opportunities that should be available to me as an alumnus.nnMy request is clear: I need practical help, whether that be financial assistance, paid creative work, professional opportunities, or direct guidance. I cannot do this alone anymore. The time for general offers of support has passed—I need actionable assistance now.nnPlease let me know what immediate steps can be taken to help me in my current situation. I would appreciate the chance to discuss this with you further and explore how UAL can fulfill its promises to its alumni, especially those of us who have experienced significant hardship.nnThank you for your attention to this matter. I studied here many years ago and at the time, it was known to be an extremely reputable university within the arts sector. I enjoyed the social aspects of university life and halls of residence, including the students union.nnThe university spent some money on good quality equipment and facilities, however where they lacked was in their pastoral care. When I approached them in regards to a problematic situation with housing, and some learning impact, there was zero consideration or even desire to help.
