Do NOT recommend for international students. Try Yale MFA instead - free tuition if your family makes under $200k. Admin team are absolutely dysfunctional. Impossible to get straight responses to emails, they don't have a phone number or in person office hours.
RCA is fine. But there are many issues with it. Since it's only postgraduate there are few clubs and societies so it's hard to meet people outside your cohort especially in the beginning when you are trying to do that.nnAlso access to workshops can be a pain as some have multi hour inductions.nnHowever there are some good things, the teaching is generally good and the technicals are pretty friendly
Yes you do get what you put in but it’s also good to read critiscms of an establishment and consider that less favorable reviews are not intending to mislead when the college already misleads a lot of students particularly international ones with shady practices and substandard teaching.
The new building is beautiful and offers lots of extra space. Which is good because for the '24 degree show it was very clear that the student roster has ballooned from past years. For a college that only offers Master and above level I was surprised at times about the quality of the work from students in the degree show. There are some stars, and some duds, and some that almost seem to be artistically antagonistic not in the 'that's interesting' or the 'at least it made me feel' ways.nReally hope the college refocuses on the quality from prior groups.
