Tynemouth built in 1882 is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the coastal town of Tynemouth, North Tyneside in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network as a terminus station on 11 August 1980, following the opening of the first phase of the network, between Haymarket and Tynemouth via Four Lane Ends.nBest part of this station is this offers stalls with local pubs and cafes within the station area. And also close the award winning golden sands Longsands Beach. The high street consists of many restaurants and pubs to provide full family outdoors experience.
Tynemouth station has a wonderful market every weekend. It is definitely worth a visit when you’re jn the area. The market is huge and Tynemouth station has also some shops that are open everyday. The market is always on Saturday and Sunday. It has some food trucks with a great variety of delicious meals.
Nice place for a day out. Especially when the sun is shining peaceful even when busy with beautiful views not sure if the market is still on on a Sunday but hopefully will be as haven't been to tynemouth market in years!
The prettiest metro station on Newcastle's yellow line. Markets are held here on weekends under the original Victorian glass roofs.
Who rates a Metro station? Me of course! It's my favourite station next to one of my favourite city areas. It literally takes you right into the market and just a short walk to the beach. Stunning station and a very nice view out of the train as you approach it in either direction. The nice tunnels and leaves as you approach from North Shields and on top are Cullercoats, Monkseaton and alike, all very pretty stations and areas
