Avoid “local guide” reviews that want the area only to get glowing reviews. Call them and see how rude they are when you’re trying to make a reservation if they’re full. “We’re fully booked”. Then ask - would there be room at the bar just for a drink - “we’re fully booked”. Then ask how about when you open. Same answer - no pleasantries, no effort to be welcoming. Just repeated holier than thou responses. We’re about to cancel our hotel booking with them.

Great food in a lovely location. If you order the lamb shoulder be prepared for what turns up.... it's a lot of food for one person.

The restaurant is set within an old coaching inn. Food selection is very localised with generous portions. I think the chef preferred the ingredients to speak for themselves although I would have preferred a bit more seasoning and herbs. Parking is just to the side of the hotel.

We had a lovely meal and were made to feel so welcome. Would recommend Martin and his staff. Fabulous place, next time we will be staying here. Thank you.
