Lovely cottage, very close to a waterfall, River and hotel with bar and swimming pool. Right on the forest and easy to find. Very close to zip world and awesome heritage sites and not that far a drive to the beach.

I stayed in the larger of the two cottages in the summer of 2014. For the most part I thought the house was great. It was comfortable and spacious. The facilities and appliances were all good, mostly. The house is a beautiful piece of history and it sits in one of the nicest parts of Snowdonia. The gardens are very pleasant and well maintained - a lovely place to sit out on a summer evening. There were a few areas where the house is fundamentally flawed. For example, the lack of mugs meant that have repetitive cups of tea was a complete and utter nightmare. This seems even more peculiar when one considers that the house sleeps eight. Throughout our stay we had repetitive issues with the boiler which meant neither the shower nor the bath in the main upstairs bathroom did not produce hot water. I found the lighting in the dining room and the lounge to be very substandard - especially at night. I am sure that it was probably designed this way to try and create an authentic old school atmosphere but one does think that the impracticality of not being able to see properly must surely outweigh a desire for gloominess. Lastly I would like to say that the addition of WiFi would have been more than welcome. I think that in this day and age wifi is as fundamental as running water. When one considers the price of the house I think that wifi should be a given. I can live with bad lighting and only two out of three showers working, but I would only consider booking the house again if it had the addition of wireless fireless. Otherwise it was really nice.
