Excellent service from Karen today. We visited for the first time today on recommendation from family. We travelled over from York to arrive for 1130 after reading reviews. Food was delicious. Only fault was could have done with more sauce in the fish pie. Told to mention this when next ordering. Definitely didn't put us off returning as all food was excellent! Thank you Karen for a great service and helping us buy vouchers for the parents for their next visit as they are regulars! A lovely restaurant, great atmosphere and delicious food all round! Thank you!! Look forward to seeing you soon!
A queue to get in & extremely busy but well worth it. I found the prices really reasonable considering the central location & opulent decor. The did pack the tables in tightly though. The food was excellent & so fresh if you can't get fresh fish in Whitby, where else would you get it?!. Very enjoyable & would definitely recommend.
Visited here whilst on holiday in Whitby. We were seated very quickly despite the restaurant being very busy. Service was spot on, attentive and friendly and our server was amazing, regrettably we didn’t get her name. The food was spot on, best fish & chips, mushy peas and fish chowder we’ve ever had. Would definitely reccomend here for a bite to eat. Fresh, piping hot and tasty food. We will be visiting again before we go home for sure.
We called in for lunch while in whitby. Arrived at 11.30 am the opening time and went straight in . We were greeted and shown to our table by our lovely waitress. She immediately took our drinks order, which arrived super fast. We ordered our food, and that came about 10 minutes later. That was fish and chips and a seafood salad. Both were scrumptious . By this time, the restaurant was full, and there was a queue outside. There was a good atmosphere and all the staff were brilliant. It is a little expensive to eat in trenchers, but it is well worth it . This was a little treat for my wife and I. Would I come here again???. Yes please.
Beautifully laid out and decor of excellent quality, very impressed with the cleanliness, brightness and layout. The toilets alone would put many a hotel to shame, accessible via a lift from the main restaurant.nThe fish was fantastic, thin and crispy with the most fantastic tasting haddock, 10/10, the accompanying tartare sauce was lovely. However, sorry to say the chips were not that good. Seemed undercooked, pale and quite hard, and the garden peas were watery and tasteless. The only reason l gave 4 Stars.nStaff were friendly and efficient, it was very busy but they did a great job. I would certainly go again but probably have large fish with bread & butter. My friend had a different meal and thoroughly enjoyed it
