This was the first visit for both my wife and I, we found it to be excellent. Good menu plus a wide choice of specials Whilst we both kept to the same choices Smoked Haddock fish cake followed by the lamb for main and to finish the apple crumble and coffee. The staff are very efficient and pleasant. This is a place to return to.

Breakfast and facilities were spot on. Rating would have been a five but for lady bringing out our food came across as she really didn't want to be there that morning. We have used this pub/restaurant on a few occasions and will continue to do so. Food is always to a reasonable standard and staff are normally great. Reservations are normally required here as is normally busy which is a good recommendation in its self.

After a 4 year break from this place due to REALLY BAD service we decided to give it another chance. Last Friday's experience was great...service was excellent. However we returned on Monday and placed at a table with filthy dirty seats and left there. We changed tables ourselves then had to wait for service. Waiting staff changed halfway through meal.and the second waitress we had just threw our deserts on the table and walked off. Things haven't changed in 4 years so I will never go back again for a personal trip.

This place is always clean and tidy. It is lovely and warm to walk into on a cold day. The food is always good, and service is cheerful and pleasant. They run a loyalty scheme where you earn points which can be saved up for a free meal, and you get a free meal on your birthday.

Really great choice of menu. Tasty food-well presented. Lovely friendly and helpful waitress. Worth a visit. Nice atmosphere
