Booked a double room as a pitstop on our travels and was rather disappointed. The location is a little lacklustre, in the middle of an industrial estate but has free parking and is conveniently located for a walk into Porthmadog. If good views are your priority, I would avoid- but this didn't bother us.nnThe room was basic, and the TV smaller than usual, but not a huge issue. The main light in the bedroom did not work, neither did the USB sockets or lights by the bed. We only discovered this late at night after returning from dinner, and there was nobody on reception. The bathroom facilities were awful. On the morning of our checkout, the toilet began to leak from the base and flooded the bathroom floor. There was nobody at reception to notify, and when we attempted to telephone the number provided it would not ring through. We had nobody to report this to, and no way of moving rooms so that we could use bathroom facilities, so checked out and moved on. This was bitterly disappointing. I have paid half the room rate at other Travelodges and received better rooms with useable amenities, and better service.nnI personally would avoid.
My only gripe was the view from my window, was a builders merchant, which meant that I had to be awake before 07.00,when they open. However, I found the staff friendly and helpful. The'Breakfast to Go' was a unique feature of my stay. The idea was inspired. The hotel was close enough to the town, for a little leg stretch, but far enough away. Apart from it's location,on a Business Park, it was surprisingly quiet.Would I stay here again, that's a big YES.
Stayed here with our dog as we arrived in Wales a day early. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and modern. Would definitely recommend. There is a breakfast place 5 mins walk away, which was amazing called breaktimes.
Stayed over recently for a single night. The place was easy to find and there was plenty of space in the car park.nnOn check in the staff were really friendly and were quick to serve us. Our room was one of the family rooms however we were just a couple so didn't use the extra beds.nnThe room was nice and tidy and clean, the sheets were nice quality and there were no smells or other unpleasantries in the room.nnSome other have complained about the Travis Perkins but it really did not spoil the view of the farmlands that could be seen across the road. When we woke up we could see the farmers letting out sheep.nnThere's no breakfast at this Travelodge and the to go breakfast is not worth the price. Luckily there's several supermarkets and cafes around to get breakfast.nnMy only suggestion would be to add some EV chargers to the car park so that you can top up overnight, the nearest ones are in Tesco or Porthmadog station but they are limited in numbers.
Nice size car park, friendly welcome at reception. Excellent standard of room with USB A and C charging sockets either side of the bed. Close to the town centre where there's plenty of shops and restaurants. Highly recommend, I'll stay here again when on business in the area. Beck again in a few weeks, for 3 nights. Friendly service on reception by Mollie, Emlyn and Tasha.
