Stayed in the hotel for a midweek break in mid-May for 4 nights. Found the following from the hotel:nnPlus'nn- Great Location. Town is a 5 minute walk away, as are 3 supermarkets.n- Friendly Staff. The staff were friendly and always gave a hello.n- Clean. The room and the hotel in general were very clean, particularly the bathroom which I always find is an issue with hotels.nnMinus'nn- Staff. The staff were very friendly, but they were not very visible. The check-in desk seemed to be unmanned most of the time.n- The Bed. The bed was not comfortable and the overly starched sheets made sleeping when it was warm quite difficult.n- The TV. Good reception and seemed to work fine. Very few channels though approx. 15. Far fewer than basic Freeview.nnOverall was a good, clean and friendly hotel with friendly staff. Just a few little issues that prevented a higher score.
Much like any other Travelodge, but seemed a bit 'nicer' somehow? The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were clearly quite modern. A hand towel would have been nice though, as all we had was two bath towels and a floor mat. Free on site parking is a big plus and I hope that doesn't change!nnThe location is quite good too. Just on the outskirts of porthmadog, so you can walk in quite easily.
Good parking as long as you don't turn up late. Better that the premier inn car park.nNice welcome.nRoom clean. Just big enough. Toilet/shower room a bit small. Could do with being a bit bigger. No heating or heated towel rail. A bit of a squeeze when on the loo between the wall and sink. Shower was OK.nBed was comfy. Great you could open the window and get some fresh air.nChair in the room was uncomfortable. Noisy when getting in and out of it. The floor near the coffee squeaking when walking on. I didn't mind but the room below must have been annoying.nThe room key. Well it kept not working so had to keep getting it changed. And yes we kept it away from mobiles and other cards. As told the first time but it made no difference. It was room 117.nThe room heater was broken but had an electric heater next to it.nNo aircon. OK this time of year but in summer the room I would think could heat up as it was south facing.nWe would go again but only out of season when the rooms are cheap.nThere is a place a few minutes walk for a good breakfast just down the road. But the best breakfast and price is from the petrol garage just down the road. Take away.nClean.nGood price.nNice staff.
Room was smaller than what we're used to with Travelodge, also no bar or cafe. No sitting out area either. Reception staff friendly and rooms clean but we had a minor issue with a drain smell in the bathroom. Located on the edge of a commercial site it was quiet and handy for supermarkets. 10 minute walk to town, 15 mins to front.
Stopped here for a few days to climb Snowdon. It’s a good location just 20 mins drive from the mountain. The travelodge is in a business park with a Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and is 5 mins walk from the town centre for pubs and cafes. Room was clean and staff friendly.
