Much much better than I anticipated.nIt is a 3 star hotel, but it was better than many 4 star hotels I stayed. Probably because I wasn't expecting much. Anyways, I'd definitely go back again.nThe staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice only £9 in 2024.nSeafront view rooms are facing the main road, so just bring your earplugs and eyemask and you're set.
Grim and discriminatory. Half the staff lovely, special mention to Lorraine and can’t remember, think it was Donna. The other half not so good. Two middle aged women on reception when I arrived who were extremely condescending and a little bit rude and aggressive with customer wrong / staff right attitude. I’m the one in the wheelchair and I’ve worked for disability charities in the past so probably know more about discrimination than they do though when I told them their policies are discriminatory they got argumentative and told me they’re not! They also told me they needed extra staff because I’m disabled in case of fire - that made me feel good and included just like any other member of the population!nnI had called them before finalising my booking to check accessibility for wheelchair and they told me it’s accessibile. However, on arrival what they hadn’t mentioned that was if you’re in a wheelchair you have to go through the back entrance via the car park and you’re not ‘allowed’ to operate the wheelchair lift yourself you have to wait outside in the car park no matter what the weather is and wait for staff to let you in if they notice you or you can call a number. Same when going out have to ask staff to operate it so it was entirely discriminatory and infantilising. Made me miserable and frustrated. Sat out in the car park called the number twice, had the phone put down on me x 2 and no one came until I started shouting the last time.nnThe room was grim, tired and scuzzy looking. When I complained that there was no hand soap in the bathroom, I was told simply that I was wrong and that it’s a budget hotel yep really and argued with me until they came and checked and found that it wasn’t working properly so I couldn’t get any soap out of the dispenser. Although when I got it out, it smells like what I imagine you get in prison if you’re lucky. Smelt like disinfectantnnGave up in the end it was just all too horrible, frustrating, super discriminatory and upsetting. It was a depressing tired room. The cleaners look like they did a good job with very challenging facilities.nnIn the end, I just thought I can’t do this. It was expensive for what it was. I could’ve had a week abroad and a waste of money if they won’t refund me which no doubt they won’t because they come across as caring about profit much more than customers. Couldn’t believe they even charge for Wi-Fi which I paid for a week but it was slow nowhere did it tell you that you can only have two devices, even after you paid for it. I and You need it because you can’t get phone signal there. When I called the IT helpline to get my other devices linked up the guy there also put the phone down on me.nnSo I’ve wasted a heap of money because they’re so money grabbing I doubt very much I’ll be refunded though I’ve tried and I’ll keep trying but no response from them of course. All round super nasty experience actually quite representative of rip off Britain - just rinse people for what you can. I feel like a mug.nnGone along the seafront and checked into Premier Inn. Just as good location, it’s about the same price but about a zillion times nicer - cleaner modernised , more attractive, friendly staff, better facilities, better food, better everything. And guess what same type of lift but I’m allowed to operate it myself like a big grown up! Wayhey!nnAvoid Travelodge like the plague unless you enjoy being ripped off patronised and discriminated. I don’t know what the good reviews are about! Really misled me.
I stayed recently at Travelodge Worthing and was served by Sam & PeternnThere was an issue with my room initially which they quickly and kindly resolved.nnThey exchanged my room for a more superior room with a great view and more spacennThey served me with kindness , empathy, knowledge , patience and went over and abovennTheir customer service was second to nonennThey are a credit to your establishment!nnSarah M Storrington
Great location and an amazing view from our room. Parking has a very low capacity and the car park could do with some tidying as there were bags of rubbish outside when we visited.nnReceptionist was probably the friendliest member of staff I have seen at a Travelodge before and seemed to genuinely care. The bar staff seemed annoyed that we wanted some drinks and desserts over 30 minutes before they closed.nnThe room was massive which is not a surprise based on the building but unfortunately, they still used the standard Travelodge furniture designed for a much smaller room making a lot of space wasted and looking out of place. For example, the TV looked tiny on the wall opposite the double bed making it difficult to watch and the position of the other two beds meant they also could not watch it
Poor phone signal made it a bit frustrating. I took a bath and there was someone elses hair in it which suggests the cleaning could be a bit more intensive. The breakfast coffee was weak and tasteless so I added an espresso shot. However, the staff were friendly and helpful when there was a mix up with my room.
