You like me can be forgiven when you drive into the car part thinking oh my god what have I booked. But the staff are really nice and friendly and I'm not just saying that okay the car part needs a bit of work doing to it and the site isn't exactly a five-star hotel site. The hallways have new carpets. There is enough parking and the hotel despite where it is located is amazingly quiet. I stayed here for 3 nights and have no complaints at all and would stay here again. There's a Shell garage on site and a Greggs.
Only stayed one night for work. There was plenty of free parking and it has a garage, Gregg's and Starbucks on site. The rooms are a little dated and it wasn't the cleanest Travelodge we've ever used. On arrival we were told the windows were open in our room to 'air it out' but don't worry the heating was turned right up. When we entered the room our dog was obsessively sniffing the floor which had some weird stains on it. But I also had an excellent night's sleep and a nice hot shower in the morning so for the cheapness of it can't really complain.
An older style building but the same standard of room. Clean and quiet. The receptionist was helpful and very pleasant. The only problem is that there is nothing but a petrol station in safe walking distance.Rooms: 5/5
Arrived at check-in, the area was very stinky, it was a urine smell. On the door through to the rooms was a sign that said that no muddy boots or shoes to be worn, I had to laugh as the carpets were so worn, stained and very uninviting, I was doubtful about staying but as we had booked and driven 2 hours to get there we thought we would chance it. The room was less than basic and they should check what the cleaners do, it was filthy. The bed and towels were clean but the bedside units were sticky and there was hair in the sticky mess. The bathroom was dirty and desperately needed some care and attention. We wont be going there again and I wouldn’t advise anyone else to go either, give the place a wide berth.
Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding locally rooms were fine just what you expect from a Travelodge. Woman on reception was rude as we hadn't paid for early check in and arrived at 2.40pm She was no where to be found, the poor trainee and cleaner kept apologizing when she finally appeared all we got was a grunt.
Excellent staff, all polite and helpful. Our reason for travelling was to walk along the coast and across the countryside. Hence, this travelodge ticked all the boxes. Ideally located and a splendid enjoyable stay. Absolutely - 10 out of 10.
Haven’t stayed in a travelodge for a while and this one did not disappoint. Friendly staff. Clean, spacious rooms. Free parking on site. Look forward to staying here again!
A one-night stay while visiting family over the festive period. As always, travelodge provides a solid, no frills experience with this branch having clean, tidy and spacious rooms, comfortable beds and very affordable prices. It's a shame that so few are outfitted to offer any proper meals, but this one is situated right next to a Greggs and Starbucks which does soften the blow. Rooms: Spacious and tidy rooms with all the necessary amenities expected from a budget-friendly hotel
Reading some reviews here you almost worry about booking - however room was spotless, stayed on the roadside - you can just about hear car noise but it’s certainly nothing that would keep you awake. Receptionist friendly and helpful. I’d say it’s exactly what you’d expect from a Travelodge - no more, no less. Can’t fault it
Couldn’t fault the stay other than the car park having severe pot holes to the left of the entrance but can be avoided if you just go round the car park the other way. Admittedly, lighting is poor in the car park which I guess can be scary if walking from back of car park back to the hotel or venturing out at night. Each receptionist was pleasant and greeted every time we walked past, even when they changed over. Accommodated to needing decaf coffee as pregnant and receptionist went on a hunt to find some which was kind. Also helped with issues with connecting to Wi-Fi. Room was clean, with a sweet note saying it was Jade who had cleaned the room. Think it’s a good idea to give the ones who clean and makes the bed some recognition! No issues with road noise, had hot water and room was a nice size. Not sure what all the bad reviews before are about. Would definitely stay again. Starbucks, Greggs and Bugdens all on site which is great for breakfast or lunch options.
