Lovely room. Great staff. Only issue was no on site food due to no chef on, on our first night of two. Reception staff great though and arranged a dicount at a local resturant

Lovely Hotel, great value but under utilised. I'd hoped to eat there but was informed yours need to book ahead to eat!! They are missing out on a lot of business here. The bar was nice but no crisps or any food available. Half the drinks were not available ( bottles only). Had a lovely but simple suite of rooms on one of my stays, comprising a nice lounge and tv, separate bedroom bathroom and loo. For £34 a night odd you couldn't fault it. And that included breakfast!! Decor was a bit dated throughout but i enjoyed my stay. Could be a great hotel but is just not making the most of what it's got. Bar meals would be a great idea, the main restaurant area is huge (great for weddings) but is too large an area for eating evening meals and feel cosy. The bar area would be perfect for this but the management don't seem to realize that they could make good money doing basic bar food on request. Particularly as the hotel has about 80 rooms!! Surely at least 25% of guests would eat there if bar meals were available on demand.

Historic building with lovely interior in public areas, in acres of land with animal's both fibreglass and real. Our room was looking a bit tired. Food good, friendly staff, apparently its owned by a sheik who has a gold car, he also likes gold paint which you will see in some strange places. £53 for two Inc breakfast is good value.

I stay here when I come over from France to Newhaven, it has an old world charm. This time I was allocated one of the refurbished rooms, very very nice too. Looking forward to the breakfast in the morning, included in the price by the way.
