Arrived at hotel around 4pm, plenty of onsite parking which seemed secure, no problems anyway.nHotel staff were friendly and chatty, always smiling and explained everything about the hotel, including the parking and if the car park was full etc I'd added breakfast to my booking and this was also mentioned along with when and where breakfast was served.nRoom was just a standard double for one night. Room was able size, clean and comfortable. No frills as you'd expect but that's why you choose a travel lodge. TV worked fine and tea and coffee making facilities were clean and all fine.nBathroom was a decent size, clean and had good water pressure. The Travelodge bathrooms of red and white always seems a bit random but can't complain.nDecent night sleep, some noise from outside but nothing to much.nBreakfast was great and was hot and cold buffet, plenty of choice with juices and tea and coffee as well.nnAll in all can't fault the stay. Budget accommodation but offers everything you need and want.nnFeel free to check out the video review on my YouTube channel @Travel.Stay.Explore
A Disappointing Holiday StaynWe booked this hotel for Christmas and New Year to spend time with family, but unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable.nnUpon arrival, we understood that early check-in wasn’t possible, which was fine. However, the receptionist was disinterested and unhelpful, making the check-in process unpleasant. When we asked to store our luggage, she begrudgingly agreed but refused to take more than two suitcases, leaving us lugging the third one around all day.nnLater, a friendlier receptionist assisted us at check-in and mentioned we had a “nice, large family room.” However, the room was the same size as standard rooms, just with extra beds. We also discovered that cleaning was only offered every seven days, which seemed unreasonable for an 11-night stay with two children. After requesting a mid-stay cleaning, we were told they would check with the manager.nnThe shower was another major issue—water fluctuated between scalding hot and freezing cold. Initially, we thought it was a mistake on our end, but the issue persisted. When we reported it, we were simply told to “adjust the dial”, which did nothing to resolve the problem. Four days in, we were left with no hot water at all, and eventually, no water whatsoever.nnTo compensate, the hotel offered a complimentary breakfast, which we appreciated. However, basic amenities like running water and reliable WiFi should be standard—not optional extras. The WiFi service we paid for was also unreliable, making the stay even more frustrating.nnAfter days of unresolved issues, we decided to check out early and requested a refund. Instead, we were issued a credit note for £1—an absolute insult after such a disappointing experience.nnOverall, this stay was deeply frustrating, with poor service, unresolved issues, and a lack of essential amenities. We left as one very unhappy family and would not recommend this hotel.
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, although we arrived a little early on this visit the lovely receptionist Mehwish got us checked in. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple and clean with everything you need.nWe had breakfast twice on our stay, it was lovely, hot and plenty of choice even for vegans!nThe hotel is close to the town centre/ train stations etc
I had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Mehwish and an English lady whose name I sadly forgot. Their hospitality truly made my visit memorable. The location is excellent, with convenient parking, and there's even a petrol station right next door for fuel, as well as a halal Subway nearby, which was really convenient. The price was great for a last-minute booking. The breakfast options were good, but sadly, the variety was a bit limited. Overall, the service and atmosphere were top-notch, and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay especially for last-minute.Thank you to the amazing team for making it such a great experience!
We had a booking for 5 of us on New Year’s Eve as we arrived at the hotel they rang us to say that our booking had to be cancelled due to utility issues.nWe said we’re just outside the hotel will come at the reception so we went in and there was a young lady which explained the situation and said she could look for another hotel nearby to accommodate us.nthe manager Emma came over and said the nearest hotel she could accommodate us was one hour and a half distance which we refused as we had been already travelling four hours to come to our destination and we had a planned schedule which was taking place shortly that evening but the manager Emma didn’t want to listen any of it .nshe was incredibly rude about it all and said good luck with finding a hotel at New Year’s Eve with a smirky smile , just to let you know Emma we did find a hotel with Britannia hotel that evening and actually worked out cheaper and they were very accommodating and professional, unlike you.nvery rude and unprofessional, I could go on and on about this lady…..clearly she doesn’t want to be there ,anger issues no professionalism whatsoever , we understand that things happen but this Emma Lady didn't know what she was doing or give two hoots!
