Lots to do on the grounds around the house- there's a walled garden, a maze , an old alley, a cafe, a pond with swans and a walking path..There's an old courtyard too with the entrances to the main house, the gift shop, the beer shop (the man inside offered the samples of the beers and ciders made in their own brewery) and even the small chapel. Definately worth a visit.

To visit this place was really interesting, nice and friendly guides.. I would be happy to give 5 stars but The Chapel and the Brewery got closed at 4.45 pm when officially they work up to 5 pm but they seem to be very hurry to get home earlier. We went to shop to buy some beer and found that you can have 0.5 L bottles £3.30 each or a box of 3 bottles for £11. So I took a box as it was more convenient to and was really disappointed for me to find at home that only the first bottle was 0.5 L, two others inside the box were only 0.33l. We call it cheating as the boxes are not described.

Always a pleasure to visit Traquair! Perfect place for the kids, loads to explore, lovely setting, friendly staff and some of the best history in Scotland!

Traquair is a great place to visit. Fascinating castle with lovely grounds and a maze. Adventure playground for the children and it has a range of delicious ales for sale in the brewhouse. Nice food as well and the people are very helpful. My family and I all loved it!

A beautiful venue steeped in historical knowledge and history. Set in a glorious rural location next to Tweed river. They have a fun maze that even us adults enjoy and don't forget the craft shops that create glorious pieces of art onsite.
